ryanair sim check ema

hi guys,
does anyone know what the ryanair sim check at east midlands might involve. Any info would be great and from anyone that has just recently completed it. Also have you any info on how many cadets are being taken on.

thanks again.

this might also be a stupid question, although ryanair are doing the sim checks, do you have to pay for it and if so how much.

thanks

Hey Oskar,

I had more or less the same question, I've also had an invitation!

If anyone would like to share any information with us, such as airports and aircraft used, the scenario for non type-rated pilots, anything would be more than welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,

When did you apply and which school?

Did you get invited by email?

Cheers

Lil' Pilot 13th Jan 2005 22:05

Hi guys!

How long did you have to wait for an invitation, after you'd applied?

oskar 14th Jan 2005 14:24

I had to wait just under a year and received information by email, it would be great if anyone else would give there comments if they have recently completed sim check and how long they had to wait for an answer that they had been succesful

Thank you

long waiting for Ryanair ??

Hello Oscar...

I started to apply to Ryanair approved flight schools almost 6 months ago.

I never received a reply.

I apply to all of them, including the new one approved starting from 2005.

I recently applied through CAE, Amsterdam I think.

No replies at all.

I will continue to wait...

:-(

Best Regards,
N2334M.

Hi Pattz

Well thanks a lot, and great that you took the effort to reply to our question.

At least now we have some idea now what's waiting for us, what's expected in general and a bit what the grading in EMA could be like. I'm sure we'll do our best and we'll see how it turns out!

Best regards!

Hi,

Has anyone who has been on the SIM ride at EMA heard about/had the interview yet ?

mjc9967 14th Jan 2005 17:38

Those who are going for sim checks, which school is it through and how long ago was the application?

Thanks

Empty Cruise 14th Jan 2005 19:46

For those of you that have been to EMA - but have not had an interwiev date yet:

FR are re-writing their OM to allow pilots that have not done initial training on the NG, but rather been trained on 400's through 600's and then had a conversion. Word is that they want the IAA approval in place before giving any dates.

Info from reliable recruitment source contracting for FR - hope that helps. ;)

Brgds,
Empty.

Hi Guys

What patz said is accurate, had my assessment in December.
The T/O was something like climb on reduced EPR, to 1500' then accelerate up to 3000' then flap retraction per their schedule.

Also you will get some technical questions and they were generally on the overhead panel. Be honest with your answers tho dont try to bull the Head of Training, he knows more than you.

Also what empty said is true bout their OM. i'm waiting for them to change to get my interview. So i have to wait until its done.

If your going for it enjoy the -200 its quite good fun.

oskar 17th Jan 2005 17:51

This is for those that have gone to the sim check, are you given an interview no matter the outcome of the sim check or is it a case that if you pass sim check you get interview and how soon after sim check are you informed that you have completed the check succesfully.

Pattz 17th Jan 2005 19:01

Hi rjay279

Do you have any more details about FR re-writing their OM?
When will it be done and what exactly are the updates etc?

rjay259 18th Jan 2005 07:50

Hi

To Oskar, No not all people will get an interview some have been told 'no not straight away but maybe if we still need pilots in a few months'. A polite way of saying NO. I found out i'd passed the following friday, the longest week of my life.

Pattz, How long is a piece of string, by the sounds of it, Ryanair are pretty desperate so I think they would be pushing it through as fast as they could, but it will be the IAA who will decide how long. The changes as far as i'm aware are to allow those who have compleated a type rating on 3/4/500 with NG diff. to work for them but dont quote me.

Good luck to all.

What are the approved training schools at the moment. Since FR changed their website, I can not see 'the list on the left' anymore. I guess CAE and SAS. What about GECAT? And what about this new one?

And any news on the re-writing of those manuals? Anybody who passed the sim invited for an interview yet?

lasloflyer 30th Mar 2005 15:04

- 737-200 SIM.
- 45 mins left 45mins right
- Approved Schools are CAE & SAA
- Pay for SIM yourself
- Everybody gets Personnel Interview irrespective of SIM result.

FlatBread 31st Mar 2005 11:24

- Approved Schools are CAE & SAA
What about RWL? They have a website for General Information B737-800 Type Rating course RWL/Ryanair?

- Everybody gets Personnel Interview irrespective of SIM result.
I know some guys who did the sim in EMA who were told 'no not straight away but maybe if we still need pilots in a few months' after the sim. As rjay259 pointed out, a polite way to say no?! Anyway, no interview for them. But I understand that there haven't been interviews since december last year anyway due to this manual problem? Or has this been solved yet?

VHF1 10th Apr 2005 17:39

Hi Folks, No posts on this thread in a while.....keep coming with the gen. Im still waiting but information in gold!"!!!

lasloflyer 12th Apr 2005 17:07

To be honest it seems like you don't know what you are talking about...5 of my mates have been to EMA this year, all have had Personnel Interviews and only 2 passed the SIM.
None were told NO outright. Those who did fail were contacted and invited to reapply next year. Change your source me thinks!!!

FlatBread 3rd May 2005 09:24

The source I'm talking to is the guy who was told no thank you himself. I'm sure he must be right! He surely isn't going to be interviewed. Sure he may apply another time.

When did your mates have those interviews, because I haven't heard about interviews lately. This rumour about manuals... What is the situation like at the moment? Anyone who have been wainting for an interview this year have been invited yet?

Sure there must be starting TR's for Ryanair at the moment.
