Type Rating Idea

Something I thought about earlier..
Obtain FAA CPL IR ME,
Buy the FAA 737-300 Type Rating = 6600 GBP
and 500 hours line exprience from Eagle Jet = 22500 GBP
What this should mean is you'll be eligible to convert your ICAO type rating to a JAA one without additional training, because you have 500 hours PIC time.
Please give me some feedback on this option, as this seems much cheaper than other schemes.
Regards

What's allowed to be logged under what category is different between FAA & JAR. You can find that something that's acceptable for FAA experience is not acceptable for JAR accreditation.

Be careful about what you're paying for & how it transfers to a desired regulatory system.

let me clarify :
- 500 hrs on type (doesn't matter PIC or SIC !!!)
- pass a proficiency check ON TYPE !

don't forget the 14 exams ... and also you need 1,500TT if you want a JAA ATPL issued ...

the funny thing is that the 9/11 hijackers didn't even have a private pilot license ...
some very "smart" people are setting up the "new" rules:
- no more "license conversions" for foreigners
- no more type ratings for foreigners
