people on pprune
Please do not be offended (there are always exceptions to the rule) but I've had enough. This forum is full of the most pathetic, whinging, boring, desparate, stupid and anything else I forgot people in today's society. There is one thing i can say about aviation and that is it attracts alot of funny people.

Well you know where the door is...

.....so please close it quietly on the way out:ouch:

With that attitude, you'll make command in two years :p

Well I think PPRuNe's great. I've had lots of good advice from people that have been a great help. Had a few good laughs here aswell. And seen as you've posted this in a wannabes forum (I don't know if you've posted it elsewhere) I'd like to point out the difference between 'pathetic whinging', and the wholly understandable frustration and disappointment of those who have put a heck of a lot of time, work, money and no little skill into achieving their dream job only to be unemployed long after their training has ended.

I've got to commend Captain Douglas on his comments, and having the balls to state the obvious. I think what he is referring to are the lurkers in PPRUNE, who hijack threads to have a good old whinge and flail their hand bags at six paces. They're the people that will not "get command in two years", or a job for that matter.

This is, of course the Professional Pilots Rumour Network.
However, I don't believe for a minute that a lot of the posters are as such. As an ATPL myself, it is easy to recognise a post that, perhaps, a colleague could have written. The more extreme comments appear to me to be written by people joining in the debate without being part of the profession. I could not imagine, for example, a forum for Doctors, Dentists, Mariners, Engineers, Architects, Accountants etc. defaulting to regular personal abuse. The pilots I know don't resort to personal abuse in any circumstances. Why should it be any different on Pprune? There are some pilot only forums and the general level of debate is at the professional level you would expect. |
I dunno Yarpy, normal laws don't apply in internet land.

Didn't you read the small print?
If you haven't got a sense of humour you shouldn't have joined..... :O |
By the way forgot to add to my original post. Does anyone know who is recruiting at the moment? Any comments welcome.
