Any chance of going back to the orignal Wannabes format?

I realise that the Wannabes format was altered with the best of intentions and recently reverted to two rather than four forums, however, I feel that we could really benefit from going back to a single forum,

A few posters have commented on the lack of traffic and news on this particular board, - true hiring and sponorship are slow - but it is happening and the wise money is keeping his cards close to his chest and isn't likely to share it upon this board.

As somebody who is all qualified to go when it comes to getting a job, out of the Wannabe Forums this is the one I am keeping my eye upon - I don't really look at the other Forum on a regular basis.

I don't know but I should imagine that there are quite a few in this position.

If the two boards were combined, then on our visits to pick up the 'gen' the other questions from 'Wannabes under training' would probably catch our eyes and get a few more answers from those of us who have been through the training mill.

Just a thought and I would be interested to hear other people's and moderator's opinions.

Would agree with that, Gaz

I agree, I prefer having a full page of threads with new posts to browse through than 2 half pages.

Cheers

I vote for the status quo!

It makes much sense to have the forum split up like this, and I certainly don't agree that there's a lack of traffic on this one.

I suppose that if you look at PPRUNE at least once a day, then there will only be about a page or so of new stuff on Wannabees in total, but for those of us who can't or don't, then these bite-sized morsels are much better.

3-1 so far. If I knew how, I would start a poll.....

Ciao!

I agree, back to one forum.

Two left clicks to get to the other one is not only wearing my mouse out, but its giving me cramp in my finger!

Any chance of a job Rod ?

Yeah agree, good post Gazeem, although I've been absent from here for a long time, things have changed a bit. Valid points made.

Actually, I believe the traffic on the Wannabes forums is currently considerably greater than it has been for many months. While I agree that the 4 forums experiment didn't work well, the current format seems to be going down pretty well in general. Many, probably most, of the visitors to this forum are well past the 'which school' phase of their progress, and find it easier to find discussions which relate directly to the situation they're now in.

You would expect the level of traffic on this forum to be less than the 'main' Wannabes forum, as many of those who use this board while considering flying as a career will never make it to the point where the finer details of type ratings, interviews and so on are important to them. However, I also feel that there is a much more satisfactory 'signal to noise' ratio on this forum - by that I mean that a greater proportion of the topics are relevant, useful, and intelligently debated. As the readers of this forum generally have more knowlege of the system, that's only to be expected.

As you know, all your views are read with interest by the Pprune staff. In the well-known benevolent depotic regime that we run, however, we make no promises to pander to the proletariat!!:}

I agree with Scroggs and Chuffer, things here are more relevant to those more advanced in their training.
