Option 1:
Dibden is some distance from Southampton centre, so I would suggest you catch a train. The central station is almost opposite the bus station. The nearest station to Dibden is Beaulieu (pronounced 'Bewlee') Road but not many trains run there. If you can't catch one to there, go to Ashurst or Brockenhurst instead.

Once there you will need to catch a taxi.

Option 2:
Find someone on the same phase 3 who would be willing to give you a ride!

There's bound to be someone else at Dale Farm going to CTC in the morning. The owner tends to introduce you to each other if he can as he knows people are keen to find someone to go to dinner with etc.

You could walk to CTC at a push; it would only take 10 minutes, but the farmhouse is at the end of a track which could be muddy if it's been raining. Not great if you're in your suit, but if you're really stuck there's bound to be someone at breakfast who'd give you a lift to the road at least.

Good luck.

Hi All,

Does anyone know the time period between acknowledge of receipt of written questions on phase one and getting a stage two interview if accepted. I have waited a week and a half so far, and still no contact.
Yes, I am impatient, but I am starting to grow nose hairs, which is always a bad sign.
Thanks

Going to sit Stage 2 tomorrow

Well, I'm leaving home shortly to get down to PIK for my flight to BOH this afternoon. Got Stage 2 tomorrow morning so am a bit nervous but have been practising long division and multiplication all week (which I only re-learned last Saturday having not been in education for 10 years lol)

So wish me luck. This is really the start of my dream. I'll let you know how I get on.

Hey
I'm sure this has been asked loads of times but I was just wondering if anyone knows how long you have to wait for an AQC after you have passed the test/ interview stage. Just thinking that it might be worth doing a cheap mcc in the mean time so I can at least send CV's out. What's everybody else done? Thanks for all your help, happy waiting and good luck.
Cheers
Ross

Ross, I take it from the tone of your message that you have passed the selection process and awaiting to start the course with CTC? I would advise that at this stage that doing a cheap MCC would be an utter waste of time as you will probably get the best MCC trainng in the country with CTC. I would relax during this time and maybe look into possible job openings, ie. do a bit of market research, maybe visit a few airline headquarters, make yourself be seen and known. Also if you know what type you'le be training on eg A320 or 737, get some literature on that type and get to know it good. If you can get your hands on some CTC checklists, then start memorising the parts that need to be commited to memory.
There is much you can do, but if you are accepted onto CTC's course - WELL DONE - not many can do it, but if I were you, I would not waste time doing an MCC with someone else. Just a last point, you could get a book from one of the pilot shops about MCC, and do a bit of reading. At the end of the day if you have been accepted, I wish I were in your shoes. PS. If you have any tips or hints about the selection process please post them or PM them. THANKS

Hi Jimmy,
Unfortunately I have not heard back from CTC yet- I sent in my application only last week and they closed for applications shortly after so I do not know whether I will even get to interview stage or not!
I really want to hold out for them as they do sound by far the best and most professional (and if it is that hard to get into, they must be good!) but I have heard rumours about the wait for a course place being until middle of next year and waiting that long (and keeping current) is going to be expensive!
Thanks for the advice on the books- I have looked into ordering a few to give me something to do rather than sitting around stressing while I wait to hear something!
I'll make sure I post some advise if I am lucky enough to get through.
Cheers

Recent ATP'ers that passed Phase 3 in September are pencilled in for an AQC in March. As the online application is now closed, those still in the system are probably looking at March / April for theirs.

Apparently the cadets take priority, depending on progress in NZ, ie they try and work it so they don't have to wait too long for a course when they return to the UK.

This means that we ATP guys won't get a definite date until a couple of months before, which is when we'll have to fork out the money to pay for it.

ATP applications closed?

I waited for my license to arrive so I could scan the bits CTC wanted and now they have closed the applications website. Anyone know how long this is likely to be for, days, weeks or months? Getting worried as my 34th birthday is looming!

The latest candidates for the ATP scheme have been offered the March AQC.

Reading the other post, I think I'm correct in saying the pool stands around 40 deep.

Easyjet's Type rating courses are fully booked until February/March of next year. With the next course not going through until December.

I think it's unrealistic the scheme will be up and running before January at the earliest.

Your best bet is to phone CTC directly. They're very helpful.

My words are not gospel.

Hi all,
I have been invited for phase 2 assessment on November the 3rd.
Anyone else going there that day ?
I went through all CTC wings and CTC ATP threads (a lot of reading, very helping ! Thanks guys who posted on that). So I will do some maths preparation and a bit of flight simulator maybe.
Can someone who has recently been on for phase 2 can confirm it is still only maths tests and pilapt, nothing else (like group questions or self presentation...) ? And that the pass rate at this stage is around 50% ?
Thanks again for your help

Salut Zest!

I can confirm that phase 2 consists of:

1) An informative introduction to the CTC ATP programme, with a full description of the selection process.

2) Maths test

3) Computer based testing

No interviews or group work were performed.

Bon Chance!

=)))

- ezy_3

Can someone also please confirm whether or not there is any testing of ATPL knowledge on the 3rd stage? I have seen in previous posts that this is not the case, however it was hinted at in the other wings forum.

Nonetheless, it has been good to refresh the ATPL knowledge...hopefully will need it soon enough for phase 4 / TR (fingers crossed!)

Good luck to all!

Hi ezy 3,

Thanks for your answer .
As the information I have so far from people who has been through phase 3 a few months ago, the ATPL knowledge test has been supressed, it is only group interview and personal interview. But if anyone who has actually done it could confirm ?
ozzieb88, I think this thread is more what you are looking for (the wings scheme, an ab initio sponsorship program) : http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=144926

Thumbs up

Hi All, I qualified through the CTC ATP scheme earlier this year and I am now a proud owner of A FO contract with an airline. If anyone has any questions regarding the AQC, type rating, line training or the job please feel free to contact me for any advice. I wont be able to offer input with the selection process as It has changed since i got through and this can only be passed with hard work. The only advice I can offer for selections is ensure you have covered every possible angle, you command good English, your a team player and you have studied like you have never studied before.

Best of luck everyone, its a fantastic opportunity.
