I sent my application for the ATP scheme 22nd August and I still have no reply. How long did it take for others to get a response?

Reading many posts about CTC, In summary this is how I understand it in terms of financials and time line Assuming you are successful getting in. Any clarifications would be much appreciated.

Selected to attend the MCC/AQC
What is the current length of time from selection to AQC course?
Pay £6500ish prior to Attending the AQC
Three consecutive weeks doing the MCC/AQC
Complete AQC and selected to enter the holding pool, Someone mentioned a lump sum of £2k from CTC at this point? is this true.
Wait in holding pool for the majic phone call.
Phone call recieved and start TR. £500 from CTC to last you over the next six weeks during the TR course.
Completion of of the TR and £1000/month payments from CTC start for six months. Then provided there are no problems (like EZY have suffered from this year) straight into line training.
Do you get flight pay during line training or does this vary between airlines?

How are people financing themselves through the transition from AQC to end of line training (particularly those with a mortgage etc).

Many thanks for any answers/clarifications

Hi Mintflavour,
Applied on-line 24th August (first part of application), then faxed part two of the application on the 29th Aug. Have now received an email yesterday stating my application is complete and they are reviewing it for phase two selection.
Strange you haven't heard anything.....

It may be worth giving them a call because my faxed application did go missing even after I'd received the email saying it had been safely received. You don't want to be too pushy so perhaps give it until next week.

As far as your financial breakdown goes it is almost correct AFAIK. There are couple of bits wrong, you do not get the 2k after the AQC I believe it comes after the 6 months line training. I also believe you get £500 per month from the time you start the type rating up to the point you start your line training. As I'm still swimming I can't be certain of the above info.

Once you start flying and get your £1000pm allowance I believe you may get flight pay on top of that, depending which company you join. Not sure how people usually fund it, I'm sending the wife out to work

Hi ramon,
It sounds like you are filling in the on-line application (first part of phase 1)??
Once this is complete you then have to print off the second part of phase 1 which asks more personal questions like the one you refer to before regarding 'team leadership' (this ties in with Q 3/4 on the paper).
Once this is complete you then fax it to CTC and thats that part over.... for now!

Faxed off my long answers on Monday only to see they have temporarily closed the application system so I can't check my status. Hope it gets moving again soon...

Hi Ramon, I am also from Spain, shall I help you filling in the school marks?

Does anyone did the phase 2 test on the 15th September? How was it? What are the PILAPT test about? I am going on the 29th and still don't know how to prepare it!

Thanks a lot,
Marta.

ATP application closed to new applicants

Does anyone know or has anyone heard when the application form for the ATP scheme is reopening, there's a note from Lee W saying that due to the huge number of applicants it has meant temporary closure to the application form. Could it be the ATP hold pool is getting bigger as customer airlines are tending to recruit people direct now, bypassing the middleman?

Also has anyone been successful with a first time pass CPL and second time pass IR, (not me but a friend was asking).

Thanks, I did hear a rumour someone got through with a 3rd attemopt at the IR but I didn't really know what to believe.

Haven't heard that, though I know of one guy who got in having passed his IR on second attempt second series.

I think as long as you can explain what happened in a way that shows your problems weren't down to complete lack of aptitude, and crucially explain what you learnt from it then it shouldn't be a problem. Worked for me - I had to redo an assymetric circuit in my initial IR and circuits in my CPL. During my application CTC suggested I add a covering note detailing this.

"Thank you for your response. Unfortunately our programme requires a 1st series pass for both CPL and IR. On that basis I have had to reject your application. May I sincerely wish you all the very best for the future.
Regards .........."

This is the answer I receved this morning . I screwed one section of the CPL.
