DickPilot,
The reason there are people swimming in the pool post aqc ( possibly earmarked for easy ) is that there is nobody to do base and line training, the training department is stretched to full capacity with the current demand of renewals ( opc, line checks ) and line training the current newbies. People have been finishing type rating and then waiting up to 2 months to do base training and start line training.

So there's no point sending more people into the type ratings just yet with this backlog......however....

I guess that could bode well for guys n gals in the pool to go to other airlines though, don't really know who's recruiting from them at the mo but i'm sure they won't be swimming for long.

QUICK QUESTION

Guys, I know the selection procedure on this and other threads has been flogged to death, but could somebody pleeease PM me with info on the PILAPT tests. I know peps say that you can't prepare for it, but I disagree! I have looked on PILAPTs web site, but there's not much to look at

In addition, I wish to pose a "What if" question to those in the know. If one were in the middle of the selection process and got a job offer from an unrelated company (eg small TPs), would CTC speed up the process to try and accomodate you if sucessful?

People have been mentioning Easy hold pools etc as a result of lack of trainers, this solicits another question. If you're in this hold pool are you GUARANTEED a start at some point in the future?

Holding Pool

I'm now out the pool and starting with Easy at the beginning of next month but there are still 5 or so guys from my AQC in May waiting......so currently it looks like the holding pool is anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months.
Best of luck to all

re to Dyingforflying

Hi Dying (ops!!)

Do not worry! No specific technical question at all! Do not care about this. They will be going to understand who exatly you are, what about your motivarion, your flexiblility, your opinion about what it takes to become a good pilot, your idea of leadership (what is?, is it useful or dangerous?).
The more technical question they made to me was about manufactoring phylosofy differences between Airbus and Boeing. and just if i knew what kind of engine are installed on the Easyjet A320.
Really, no more than this.

What they really need to understand is your potential to become a pilot, ok? No needings at all to see your actual technical preparation, nor your flying skills.

So don't lose your mind, on that, and just think about qualities to become a good pilot. If you get these, just let they discovering that!

I wish you the best!

Maurizio

hoi,

i'm going to try the ctc BUT i've tried to fill in their application form. I still don't know what to write about "team-membership". I've never been involved in sporting club or whatsoever. So i really think this will decrease my chances. Did anybody have the same problem and how did you solve this?

grtz

Team Work

There must be something that you have done in your life that involves interacting with other people?
What do you do at work? What did you do at school or university? Were you involved in any clubs or societies? Even organising a holiday for a group of friends might count as working as a team if you can gloss it up a bit.
Don't necessarily think you have to have been the captain of the football team for successful stories of team membership.
Best of luck

CIAO!!!!
I VE BEEN A CABIN CREW FOR 6 YEARS AND I KNEW WHAT TO ANSWER....
JUST THINK ABOUT THE DEFINITION ABOUT TEAM WORK....
IN A BANK, IN A SUPERMARKET, IN A COLLEGE...THEY WORK IN TEAM...

LEADERSHIP...TRY TO THINK ABOUT A DIRESTOR IN ABANK, OR SIMPLY A DIRECTOR IN SCHOOL, IN A FOOTBALL TEAM, IN AN TOURISTIC GROUP...

iI KNOW IS NOT EASY TO ANSWER SPECIALLY IN A CONCISE WAY...BUT...WORK A BIT ON IT..READ DEFINITIONS AND THEN I AM SURE YOU WILL COME OUT WITH IDEAS...

BEST LUCK

Frank

Sorry to hear you failed.

They only look at the results of your tests on phase 2. You could wear jeans and a t-shirt and you'd still get through. (ok, I'm being silly now, but you get the idea).

It's probabaly the PILAPT tests that let you down, because they give you a second chance at the maths if you pass the PILAPT

PS, Girls wear skirts! You mean shirts

Whats the pass rate? And do you have to pass every part or is an average taken of your overall scores?

Hello,

Do you know if there is a limit age for
this cadet selection. I didn't find it
on the CTC website.

Thanks,
Med

If you mean for Cadet entry, you're in the wrong thread - there's a separate one for the Wings Cadet scheme. The answer to your question, however, can be found on the CTC Wings Cadets "Qualifications" page:

http://www.ctcaviation.com/wings/040201.html

which states...

"On the date of application you must be at least 18 years old and not yet 30 years old."

Similarly, for the Wings ATP scheme, on the relevant page:

"On the date of application you must be aged between 19 years and 34 years (within 3 months of your 34th birthday)".
