Australian pilots working in the US

I was wondering in anyone could share a bit of information about Australian GA pilots moving to the US on an E3 visa.

Do you simply apply for a job through a US carrier and inform them during the job interview that you’ll be requiring a visa. Or is there certain carriers that are actively seeking Australian pilots.

Do you have to obtain certain American training before applying for these jobs or do you usually sign a contract before leaving Australia and get looked after by the airlines?

Thank you!
apologies if this post is out of place, slowly trying to figure out PPRuNe.
