Hello pilotlux!
Congrats for passing the first step and break a leg for the second one!
Are there other topics that I should study on Skytest? I mean further exercises I should practice in addition to those you mentioned.
Thanks in advance. Your info is really important to me.
A warm hug

Hi,
Congratulations on passing,
Please tell me is the first step of recruitment process done online or you had to travel somewhere and if so where was it?
If you had to travel could you choose some dates that fitted you best or you got an email with place date and hour?
Best luck to all of You.

Obviously, they invite swedish candidates for the stockholm base, so they are in the priority as i see now. I don’t get why to be honest, in aviation the language is english, it doesn’t matter what base are you in so it shouldn’t matter where are you from. Anyway I hope after them they will start and invite others as well.

Hi everyone,
same situation I got an email may 13th and still waiting. I like the « please be patient » because that ´s the only option. I wouldn’t argue but it’s a common sense to ask Swedish pilot first for their capital. Happy to see they started to invite for the BQ. Hope we will be next soon.

Hi everyone, as I understand everyone is on a different path. I was told that the recruitment team will NOW review my application but in the meantime I am requested to sign the declaration. Since the day I uploaded that form, I have never heard from them anything. Has anyone of you been in the same situation?
although, a great congratz to all of those who got invited and are on the path to be successful. Fingers crossed for all of you

A friend of mine passed the first step yesterday, he told me it was hard but manageable. Apparently, the ATPL questions part was "very simple", but then again this guy was very good at the theory.

Just to give you some perspective:
I got that message on the 5th of May, the next message after (where they accepted my application and asked me to wait), I got it on the 17th of May, and the next after that (invitation) was on the 7th of June.

Hi everyone,
Congrats on your various steps of the recruitment.
I am attempting to apply as well, however, regardless of how many times I check my entries on the application portal it shows application status "incomplete". Anyone else experienced this and found a solution?
Thanks and good luck

Hi all, I did the EW BQ a few days back, and this is what I’d recommend to focus on, in order to be succesfull, and some few comments on how they differ from the real test.
This is for Skytest users´:
At my seating, approximately 30% were succesfull, and almost every one who wasn’t succesfull said they failed on the math, either the mental arithmetics or the math world problems.
The ATPL knowledge part was very mixed, nothing with charts/maps or big calculations, (I had 2 question where I had to calculate estimated landing mass and maximum allowable block fuel or someting like that.)
I would recommend Aviationexam, and skipping all the questions that require a lot of calculations and chart reading.
I, myself, I didn’t practice much ATPL, just a few questions of the free version. There were many questions I was unsure of, but still managede to be succesfull
best of luck
This is for Skytest users´:
- Math word problems
(very time sensitive really no time to calculate on paper) - Mental arithmetic
Tip: if you get overwhelmed at a point and can’t calculate before the next number show up, just remember the numbers. You can type the numbers in the answer bar and calculate them step by step. Here, time is not a factor, so you have som time to calculate. - Mental arithmetic with time.
I would recommend to practice with “medium” on the predefined levels, but there aren’t too many of these, around 4-5 questions with time. - Number series (time sensitive)
- 3D Shapes
these are solids in the real test instead of grids, and you have to count curved surfaces as well and use shadows of the object to help determine the edges and surfaces. Can be a bit tricky. - English (grammar and synonyms)
- Memorize type of Aircraft
(not a multiple choice test as in skytest, you have to write the answers) - Number Blocks test
Carefull! Some of them “83” appears more the 3 times. I recommend sticking to the “medium” predefined setting instead of “hard”. - Preception Test
Master at least the “medium” predefined level. But I feel like the real test is a bit easier than skytest. - visualMemory Test
The one on skytest is ridiculously difficult, but take some time to practice connecting figurs/pictures to numbers. I think the “easy level” is enough. As I remember, all numbers were 3 digits, but only one figur/picture was shown at a time. It start with 3 pictures, and then it gets harder with each step. - Rotating Cube (time sensitive)
I recommend to practice on the hard predefined level, and don’t spend more than 15s on each cube. - Shapes Puzzle
- Stack Test
- Pair of scales (times sensitive)
recommend to practice with Medium or hard but don’t spend too much time solving them as Skytest allows. - Visual Analogies
- Multitasking mix with Callsign.
(The callsigns being transmitted at the real test are very similar to each other so be carefull, they all start with the same letters. Filling the tanks is easier than Skytest, you just have to press 1 letter to fill instead of connecting a pair of letters. And tracking og the F/D is more sensitive at the real test than the one on skytest.

The "Mental arithmetic with time" is IMPOSSIBLE to do on hard
There is no way it can be that hard on the BQ I can't imagine anyone being that fast at calculating so many numbers and converting between minutes and hours like that.

I just received my "We have reviewed and accepted your application" email today.
Does anyone know if travel expenses are paid for? I highly doubt it but I heard from someone that EW might do that?
Also, I have seen the document about the simulator screening process for non TR pilots. Still looks like quite the challenge if you are a pilot without any experience on the big birds yet. If anyone has some more information about the sim phase that would be highly appreciated!

Hey everyone, My application was accepted, and now I'm waiting for the invitation for the first stage, BQ.
I'd like to know if anyone had been through that stage and if so, what question did they ask when it comes to technical knowledge.
Good luck everyone, see you in the skies!

Hello everyone! I have received the same email as well, i'm ntr and i want to ask you about the preparation for the assessment. Do you recommend any specific site like the skytest or any other similar? It is worth the money and the time to spend there?
Any answer is appreciated! Thank you in advance and good luck to everyone!
