Just had my assessment in Budapest on Nov 16/17 and would like to share my feedback. (I used pilotassessment and ACE to prepare)

There were like 70/80 candidates, no joke.

Stage 1 (TEST + GROUP EXERCISE)

Test is 60 questions, most are basic ATPL questions (POF, AL, PERF, OPS). Some company related (like seats on 320, what engines, most northern destination etc); also some pretty easy maths questions like basic equations.

Group exercise can be tough. Some scenarios are easier than others but it depends a lot on the whole team (obviously). As everyone has already said before, try to talk, say something useful and contribute to the team. Make sure that everyone is included and try to find the solution within the 15/20mins they give you.

After this stage it looked like 50 out of 80 passed.

Stage 2 (HR/TECH INTERVIEW)

This is tough. Not necessarily because they ask very difficult questions, but because they are testing you in every way possible. They can play good cop bad cop, see how you react to certain scenarios and make you doubt yourself over and over again. Make sure you are certain about what you know and only doubt yourself when there's a good chance you are wrong. Show them your thinking process and your determination in joining the airline.

It looked like another 20/30% got cut. We were probably 30/35 at the end of this stage

Stage 3 (SIM)

Short briefing before. Just make sure you have reviewed the profiles already (and practiced 1/2 hours. I recommend Simnest In Budapest)
Already lined up, rwy hdg 5000ft (F/D off). Then some manoeuvres (45* turns, climbs descents etc). A few radial interceptions. Maybe an emergency (could be sick pax or tyre debris, who knows). Then vectors for a raw data ILS. If in doubt, go around, it's never a bad choice. Forgot to mention, it's in the FFS with full motion on.. for a first timer like me I was a bit dizzy.

Around 17 seemed to have passed this stage

Stage 4 (Psychometric tests)

Some logical tests, some easy maths, finding differences, memory, fast adapt, personality test and CRM. Lasts 3/4 hours. You can take as many pauses as you want in between. You get to this stage so tired at some point I couldn't read off the monitor.

Unbelievably within 12 hours almost all of us got news (some were surprisingly rejected at this final stage). I believe in the end 10/12 passed out of 80.
My estimates might be wrong or inaccurate, it's just what I perceived at that time.

Waiting on start date now!

Good luck to all!

Hello! Anybody that is already doing the type rating can help me with the documentation that we have to send them prior to the commencement of the training?

My application for Wizz UK says that I have been invited to assessment days but I can't see an email or anywhere to book a slot. Does anyone know if it's buried somewhere or just need to wait for an email?

Thanks in advance

You will need to keep an eye out on assessment days and book it as soon as you see it. They are put up randomly and get booked up very quickly.

Hello guys. Despite ticking all the boxes, I received the message "You have not been selected on this job requisition. You may re-apply immediately" for a First Officer - non rated - Cadet Level. I guess I was victim of my age, even having over 1000 hours. I tried to re-apply, yet I was unsuccessful. I've contacted them by email, with no avail. Does anyone knows the correct steps to re-apply? Thank you for your time.

Cheers

I'm having the exact same issue, with less hours, but still meeting all the requirements on the page.

Sorry to hear that! I don't think you will have luck with getting in touch with them. They have thousands of emails probably. They never reply to most people. I got a reply like 2 months after my email...
Anyways, the only way to reapply, is to completely delete your application and your profile, and then register and apply and do everything again from scratch. You may use the same email you used before; but you have to do it like this, and I know because I've tried everything and it didn't work until I did it this way.

Good luck mate!

I guess you tick too much boxes with over 1000 hrs for a cadet position...

Not enough IFR hours (almost there) and no JOC in order to apply for the First Officer - Non Type Rated - Experienced position.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes in the holding pool to be given a start date?

Hi !

During my theoretical interview they told me that if I passed all the process I would start the training in April/May…

I’m still waiting the final decision 🙏🏻

When did you passed the assessment ?

From my own experience: finished assessment on Tuesday, received congrats mail on Thursday and next Tuesday I received the job offer with the starting training date in one month from that email. Some other candidates from the same assessment didn’t receive the mail with the job offer until a couple of weeks later. If you have any questions just let me know!

21pilots I think it depends a lot. I heard they pick randomly from the holding pool, but we have seen a correlation between requesting a Romanian base and getting contacted much sooner that others. Anyways, not much to do besides waiting at the moment =)

I did the assessment the 07-08 December. I think that there is no set rule about the results because some received it two days later and some 2-3 weeks… In the same way, one pilot doing the type rating actually told us that there is few chances to fail the 4th stage and I have read on different forum that some applicants failed this stage… I juste hope that I will receive it quite quickly 😁

Oh you just finished. Yes some people in my assessment actually failed the 4th stage. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes so it's difficult to judge. Hope you get your results soon enough

Definitely, that correlation seems to be right because my base preferences where in Romania!
