Probably yes, i think it depends on when you finish the Type/Base training. Let's say Spring, than you have all the summer months where you are going to fly a lot more than winter.

so true. There was a suicide about 3 years ago, in uniform, in the staff car park at crl. Imagine, heaven forbid, he decided to checkout eurowings style? Remember this is a company that will discipline you for being sick 4 times in a year….

It was so terribly sad, he was not the first and will not be the last in this company. Blue skies.

I avoid flying Ryanair for this very reason.

and not only that, they say “oh I will only be here for a few years and leave” and they don’t understand now that ryr is so big it is able to move pilot wages, others must slash, to keep up with ryr fares.

So in effect, you will have no where to go to that is better…

2001, ryr captain salary in stn was 109k basic. 2016 it was 66k, now its 59k.

FO basic, was 75 in 2001, 2016 it was 20k. Won’t be long until its an unpaid intern role.

The history is in front of your faces.

….and sometimes you just have to be smart and wait a decade or so, and then approach the problem from a different direction to achieve the solution?

Pretty sure the pilots that joined AF after a first experience with Ryanair would disagree with you …

And that’s only one exemple among others

AF also have the emotional intelligence to sponsor from day 1, even paying a wage, for a large number of pilots. Its not right, nor sensible to plan a buisness as a 737 flight school, expecting pilots to leave within 2-5 years, continually replacing them with cheaper and cheaper contracts.

Hence the problem they got themselves into in 2016.

so to cure that problem, hire 1000s of kids on zero hour contracts, get them to pay twice the market rate for a rating, which in effect means they pay their own wages in year 1 !

all that effort on trying to teach pilots the big picture and they fail in such catastrophic fashion when it comes to life choices!

Someone managed to pay 30k for a TR even in 2016...

FR as a private company proposes a legal contract. The "cadet" pilot can choose to sign it or not.

FR were facing a pilot mutiny after 2016 as people had simply had enough. Subsequently FR were forced to reduce the TR, bond cadets and offer sustainable/competitive contracts. It’s amazing what happens when pilots stick together instead of the current every man for himself attitude.

Hi there,
So I received yesterday the preassessment (cut-e) unsuccessful email. Do you know if I still can get invited to retake it?

You have just saved yourself 30000k +, that would have been lost for nothing. Be thankful.

From what I heard, it was exactly the every man for himself attitude that forced FR to improve Ts & Cs - too many pilots were leaving to join Jet2 and TUI.

Great, thanks for your answer! And do I have to do something different to apply this time compared to the first one?

no new cadet will be offered a perm contract. They will get zero hours agency contracts.

The parc contractors in ryr got an email 2 weeks ago saying they must take a further pay cut as parc is losing money. Nice isnt it.

How can they loose money ?
They are vampires squeezing pilots salary, and literally not providing any service
