Hello RYRCadetRecruitment I share concerns of my fellow aviators. I am due to complete a RYR APS with one of the training providers later on the year. I am concerned about afterwards as I am considering not accepting the job offer if successful due to this 6 month contract- can you please explain the reasoning and logic behind this asI feel like anyone who is been asked spend €30k deserves a clear explanation on why we are not been offered more security Ie a longer contract? This is a legit message not intended to have a dig at you, I just want to hear RY's side to this decision.

Hi Daniel,
The 6 month contract is a 'Training Contract' that is issued to cover the Base Training & Line Training period. Upon successful completion of this, cadets will move to a more permanent contract with Ryanair or a Ryanair Group airline. The reason we do not outright offer job guarantees because it is dependent on each cadet successfully completing these training elements. This has been the same model since 2018 and to date we have had a 99% success rate of cadets at this stage and all successful have moved to Second Officer / permanent contracts. As will our first cadets of 2021, scheduled to complete the Line Training in the next few weeks.
If you have more specific questions regarding this you should contact the MCC provider who can relay these questions to ourselves as one of the major benefits of the Ryanair Mentored Programme is that you get a direct link to Ryanair Flight Operations and Recruitment while on a Mentored course.

I'm sure you can see our other reply which explains the 6 month contract in a bit more detail. Regarding employment contracts, all of these are issued in line with the individual base agreements and union deals signed for each country. Once employed as a Second Officer there is an allowance of up to €/£ 5,500 per year which is provided to cover such costs.

I alreadly have a valid 737TR with 300H on type, I do not reach the minimum for exp FO recuitment.
If I apply for the cadet schem, does it mean that I have to do the Type rating again ?

Is there any certainty that all cadets - provided they successfully pass the TR and LT - will be offered a position as a Second Officer right away at the end of the 6-month contract? Or will there be a waiting list for those who have been hired later in the year (as compared to those from the first few batches)?
Also, do you plan on hiring more cadets before the end of 2021 / beginning of 2022? Thank you in advance!

Since you do not seem to meet the minimum requirements for an OCC course (minimum of 1200h total time and 1000h on a CS25 aircraft including at least 800h on a B737) you would need to complete the type rating again.

Thank you for answering our questions.
I have completed my application form for the Cadet TR program several weeks. I meet all the requirements, but I have no answer form the recruitment team. During the last webinar, MD stated that it took 1 to 2 weeks between completing the application form and being invited to take the online assessment : do you confirm that point ?

AFA are periodically reviewing all applications at the moment, if they wish to progress this they will be in touch via email.
Please check your spam folder as occasionally the emails can go here and please also ensure that all documents are uploaded correctly

Nothing is certain in a COVID world but we can only comment on how it worked previously and since 2018 (when the training contract was introduced) every single cadet who successfully completed the type rating and line training was offered a position as a Second Officer, and we have hired well over 1500 + cadets since then. There will be no waiting list or hold pool, the courses have been planned in coordination with the Summer schedule and aircraft deliveries so cadets should transition to Second Officer as soon as the training contract ceases.
We are continuing our recruitment campaign at the moment but we have a target and once this is reached we will cease recruitment for a period, so I would suggest applying if you are interested as positions are limited.

Would ask: I've logged 1.500 TT in GA (Not as FI but aerial work). Still don't have MCC or APS/MCC. I've just turned 40 few days ago.
Wich could be the best way (IF still i have ANY due to my age) to become a RYR pilot?
BTW, i've read RYR recruiters are so active on Linkedin, even doing webinars. Unfortunatelly i should be invisible to them. Any tip for being visible to them?

Not sure what you mean by protesters? We are a union of pilots who look out for one another. We need to fight for our rights as professionals and to be treated as such. Just because a company who is obviously destroying your rights to a decent life here posts it doesn’t make things right. Yeah they’ll give you a position in the RHS, but at what cost. Try getting a mortgage or paying off that debt with them. It isn’t going to wash with the banks. The bank ain’t gonna give you 30k for if buts or maybes, You are being taken for a ride and that’s what the majority of us experienced pilots are trying to say. We’ve had it good, you on the other hand are not. Wake up man.

It amazes me there are queues to come here…ema crews just yesterday been put on to a roster pattern for the winter that puts FO’s below the poverty line. Working about 4 days in 21. Forced part time and unpaid leave for everywhere else in the UK as well.

Do not join this company, no matter how much you love flying, you will rapidly not love flying here, it’s repetitive, dull, tiring, and every single year you earn less money than the year prior.
