Just like to thank everyone for the information so far!

My ME(L) and ME IR expires end of April.

Does this need to be valid if I start the type rating course or does it need to be valid for an assessment only?

Hey Guys,

I took the RYR assessment on April 2022 last year, but unfortunately I was not successful.
It will be a year in Two months, and I would like to know if some of you had a second chance a year after ?

I don't know if I should try to get in contact with them knowing that they rarely answer to that kind of mail.
Any thoughts ?

It has to be valid for both, because of sim assessment.

It's best to take some time to read through the experiences in this forum.

For me pilotassessments.com was a very good preparation, so I can recommend them.
The preparation there is called “Irish Low Cost Carrier”.

There is as well a forum on that website with many feedback reports from other candidates for both the online and Dublin assessment.

Anyway all the best, been there as well

Just applied, got selected in some days. They gave me a short deadline to complete the online assessment. I asked for 2 more weeks because I work 12 hours a day and I'll have a week off at the end of the month and I want to be relaxed. They said no. Who cares about my problems...

so then why did you apply if you can't do the test?

Did you guys applied through Ryanar website where it says AFA Cadet pilots?
Because I applied there 2 days ago and recieved today:
" We have reviewed your application and we regret to inform you that it has not been selected for further consideration. "

I have no idea why I did not get a chance to do even a online assessment
I have everything valid and have over 1000 hours on Pilatus PC-12

This is a company that forces new pilots to RENT a company simulator, threatening that they won't have a job after line-training if they don't do it. It's all about making money from desperate cadets in any way possible, and they know that you're not as monetizable as the 200h guys. Practically everyone I know who went there wants to leave ASAP (haven't even finished line-training), but don't have a place to go with their hours. AFA knows you might have a chance to leave soon, and predicts that anyone with a healthy brain will do so.

What a lovely company to work for
The only problem is that not many companies hiring cadets with minimum hours or without Multicrew hours

You must have it valid in the assessment day. If you pass you can have it expired for a maximum of 12 months when you start your training.
the reason for that is that once you add the type rating to the license it renews your ME IR.
Your MEP will be lapsed but you won’t need it anymore unless you want to work in parallel as a FI.

This information was given by Ryanair in the Dublin assessment day.

I was in this situation and have other friends starting their training with their ME IR expired after their assessment.
