Very True! I feel i got great training from the schooli was with, who are ryanair partnered anyway, but some of the guys i met and from schools especially in one country in particular (Not eastern Europe) were just processed as cash cows for the school regardless of how good they were

Don't worry they will get back to you, I have heard that some people got the Dublin assessment before others even though they applied before, but it doesn't mean that you're out, be patient

Does anybody have an estimate on the complete costs of the cadet program, it surely doesn't end at 30k? I've read that for example the uniform is quite costly aswell. Any other hidden costs - or costs to take into consideration?

From what I gathered so far, there might be something that I'm missing though:

Uniform : Around 500€, depends on how many clothing items you request.
IAA License transfer : Around 700€ in total with type rating
Airport Acess card : 210+50€
Costs of living while on the type rating are on you but obviously depends a lot. Still I would say the average would be around 1000-1500€ per month for house, transportation, food, bills, etc.
All-in-all I would save up to 35000€ for all the expenses and a bit of cash for something unexpected.

If you play clever, you can reduce that somewhat.
Yes you will need the Jacket and Tie, but Black Trousers, Shirts etc are up to you where you get them..
Not a massive amount, but it all helps.

I would take into consideration the cost of living crisis that will substantially get worse this winter and beyond. We are moving towards deep recession territories.

Assessment on the 13th Sept

Hi all,

Anyone invited for assessment in Dublin on the 13th September? I am booking a sim prep at AFA on the 12th in the afternoon, it would be nice to get someone else in to double the PF/PM time.

Thanks.

This can only mean places like Ryanair really are the places to be for those that want to have any meaningful aviation career for the next while. As mentioned, O'Leary is already planning and capitalising on this.

Rightly or wrongly, cadets graduating today have next to no other options.

All you really need from their partner uniform shop is the blazer (£99) and the tie (£7). They do list belts, trousers, shoes and the whole shooting match, but play it smart and you shouldn't come anywhere near 500.

Any of you guys have prepared the interview part of the Assessment with www.passandfly.com?
I'm looking for a partner who's willing to join me and do the preparation course together, as I've heard good things about the online course.

Also interested in sharing some 737 hours before my assessment on the end of September. DM if interested

I would be careful, their website is just one week old, so what good things have you heard in the meantime?

2 colleagues from my flighschool prepared the interview with pass&fly and where very happy with the outcome. Apparently the website is recent but they've been doing the course for quite some time now.

Still looking for a colleague to join me for their course and some sim prep hours in Upilot before the end of September.
