I suppose no one has heard anything in the last week or two? When do you reckon there may be more news...next week or January I suppose? February is getting close to allow us to give the 4 weeks notice period...

I was part of the summer group and completed my interview / assessment day in September. I got PFO email on Friday 20th December. Best wishes to all still in the mix

Sorry to hear that, for the folks who received the dreaded rejection letters. Keep the faith and with this year's experience, I'm sure you'll nail it next year!
Did anyone else receive some good news since Christmas?

Sorry to hear that smamrock. I applied 4 time before I made it past the panel interview, so I can promise that you really learn something from the experience each time that will help you to progress to the next stage next time around. Keep the faith and hopefully there will be another one in the summer!
Were you in the latest November intake? I don't suppose they gave you guys any more information such as start dates or how many classes or positions they would have or anything?
Thanks a lot, and blue skies for the future!

From what I can tell, the only thing they really want to see is that you have done at least a couple of hours or orientation flights to prove that you are interested and comfortable in a small plane. I know people who have gotten the cadetship with a PPL and were in the same class as people who had only done one or two introduction flights, so dont think it's either necessary or frowned upon really to have a PPL. Once you can prove its your passion and not just a whim then you'll be fine!

I realise this thread has not been used for sometime but I’m wondering if the cadets have been reinstated following Covid?
I’m aware easy jet cadets are back and BA cadets are still in a holdpool.

The major difference between the easyjet + ba cadets and the aer lingus cadets is that aer lingus spend 120k+ on them. I wouldn't go as far as to say they'll never bring it back though.
