In the future, given the volume of candidates we receive, only candidates who have completed an APS MCC with an approved partner (and we are currently in discussions with other APS MCC providers), will be considered for selection and we will update you all accordingly as to selected partners and cut-off dates to accept applications from non-approved partners.
The question is not who is partner with Ryanair in the first place, but what makes more sense. MCC or APS MCC for Ryanair. And if one should decide to do an APS MCC which partner should one choose? AFTA or Sky4u?
But I think this should be discussed in another thread, because it is not the topic here. Therefore I'm opening a new thread which addresses this question: AFTA or Sky4u for APS MCC Ryanair

What about Virtual Aviation APS MCC ? Do they also cooperate with Ryanair? Because when looking at the different offers of APS MCC providers theirs look most interesting.

I did the APS MCC in virtual now known as VA and they were quite professional and friendly

They have extremely high standards though, it felt like a type rating more than an MCC because they really wanted us to know all the procedures very well so it's an intense course but an amazing learning experience

I don't think they are affiliated with Ryanair but it would probably be worthwhile to find out yourself

I couldn't say a bad word about VA from my experience with them

@Victor Golf: Did you learn anything like Ryanair SOP while doing VA APS MCC or was it more universal? Because looking on their page I wondered where do the 92 % successful pilots (passing the first assessment) get their first job. Bases in Poland are offered by LOT, Nordica, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Enter Air and Sprint Air. But its probably just a "commercial" and there is no statistic where the pilots with APS MCC from VA get their first jobs. Still VA looks best from the different offers I looked at.

No it was VA SOP's only, most of the students who get jobs at VA are most successful with Ryanair and Flybe from what I noticed.

I know VA are regarded quite highly and in my opinion it can make the difference between getting an interview and getting the job if you have VA on your CV from talking to past students there

@Victor Golf: I saw that you wrote in another thread that you were at Bartolini, did you do the 0-ATPL course there, if yes did you do their MCC/JOC (or the one at some other place that is included in their 0-ATPL) before doing the APS one, or did you just do the APS one (and maybe got refund for the MCC/JOC part) at VA ? I do still want do an APS one on 737 sim even after doing the one included at my school just to learn more and have a bigger chance at the airlines (+ the included one will be on Airbus 320 sim).

Do anyone know if only sky4u cooperate with Ryanair on the APS MCC or are there also some other APS MCC providers especially approved by Ryanair? Berlin is close to me etc. but somehow when looking at the sky4u website (I know I should visit the different places and I will when I am ready for the APS MCC) I do not feel such "oh this will be a superb experience to not only learn but also enjoy" (flying is still something I enjoy totally, so part of my choices are based on what seems the greatest experience in addition to the greatest possibility to learn) like when looking at some other APS MCC.

By the way do anyone know what is the assessment for the APS MCC at sky4u, I imagine its not the same as for Ryanair since the real assessment will be after finishing the APS MCC according to their website. But do anyone know what it is, more like atpl theory questions and some agility/concentration tests or actually flying some sim? Or do they do some maths and physics tests totally not relevant to flying that are not done on the real assessment to the airline? Because sky4u have not included any info about their assessment.

PS. Anyone who did the sky4u APS MCC and later did the assessment for Ryanair? Did you get someone who also did this aps mcc as sim partner or is it random? Because I came to think about how to perform the assessment according to the Ryanair SOP learned at sky4u (with proper cooperation) if the other person did never learn that SOP.

  • Some have very high standard and quality (Virtual Aviation in Cambridge for example) but are not connected to RYR.
  • Some have lower quality but are connected with RYR (Sky4u is the perfect example).
  • Others which are not connected to RYR and have at the same time lower reputation and offering below average training (Simtech).
PS: This is my opinion and I am giving this information based on more than 50 APS graduates that I have personally contacted and asked about their training partner!
Would be perfect but it seems there would be some capacity problems

CAE, Simtech then VA

We're all aware of CAE's position in this business. But when it comes to the other schools they can't compete with Simtech's professionalism. Next one is VA, surely.
These are all good schools. If you compare them with eg. Sky4u they are all way better than the German one. All bigger, older and British /Irish. So why did Ryanair select them as partner? I would not go for somewhere else if I my HQ is in Dublin and I'm operating in UK and IR mainly. I bet for every stud RYR sends over Sky is paying a small amount back.

Ryanair has one of the best training departments in the entire world so I am sorry but they wouldn't have endorsed SKY4u if they weren't happy with their standards, in addition to that RYR would have never allowed them to use their logo if they thought they weren't good enough!
I can guarantee you RYR's training department are no fools and they are not new to this business. All Sky4u instructors have been standardized by Ryanair's training department.

I think simtech and VA are on same level. For Sky4U you know my opinion.
But some will never accept another opinion. And if you are a young fresh pilot you will never speak openly in public because you know that you loose your job.

If you have some information please share on a forum with an exact topic like APS, not here. Only MCC here. I have opened up another one, maybe active tomorrow. Bye bye

Would you like to train at a school (Sky4u) that has a dubious past? Maybe criminal? For sure I wouldn't.
Just read the posts here:
return of pay2fly programs?

I promised not to write, but this is too crazy.
Hey Ryanair! Congratulations! You've selected the best of the best!

Dear Ryanair recruitment,
did you know that about SKY4u? I see that critics stopped replying. Because these are hard facts? It's a pity that you does not seem to apply the same care in selecting your partners as you apply for your pilot training in-house.

Other school maybe?

These are not the only ones with APS courses. I think I would give VA a try. For sky it's game over.

This entire thread is nonsense. To say a company worth 4.5€billion with one of the most efficient and successful training departments in the world didn't do their homework is ignorant at best and slanderous at worst. Almost as ridiculous as the guy that didn't get hired saying they are profiting off the interviews.

Has anyone done the standalone JOC at SKY4U? If so could you let me know whether the 10hrs of simulator time they advertise as all as Pilot Flying or whether it is split between Pilot Flying and Pilot Not Flying? If all 10hrs is as PF then is there any additional time spent as PNF while your sim partner is PF?
