Sponsored Cadet Schemes

Sorry to ask, deep into Retirement & losing touch, a bit, but, on behalf of other chaps seeking my guidance, my question relates to the degree of sponsorship & repayment plans. Commonly asked is the BA Cadet Scheme. Am I right in thinking that it is nothing like the Hamble Cadet Scheme and/or the various fully sponsored courses that followed in the late 60's / early 70's ?

I was fully sponsored. Paid nothing up front and after completion of Line Training started repayment of one third of the basicCPL/IR through salary reduction over five years. Didn't feel it after the first annual pay increment anyway.

While there seems to be quite a few "Cadet" schemes around, I doubt any of them are like that. Indeed, say, for example, the BA scheme , is it not just a question of a BA guarantee of the bank loan for the full amount ? And, what happens if you fail at any point / Does BA pay off the Bank loan leaving the Cadet loan free ?
