Long hair for men

Hey, I'm 17, I'm a boy and I have long hair (like harry styles used to have, so to speak). Can this cause any problem in an eventual airline interview? Thank you

If the hair length does not comply with the company's grooming policy, then probably it will cause problems.
You're probably thinking "I don't know their policy". Exactly. Right now at 17 I doubt you'll be getting many interviews, but once you start training etc, the impression may not be the one you want to convey.

In interviews/first time meeting people, the first 10 seconds are the most important. You haven't even had a chance to speak and you're already being assessed based on your appearance.

Rightly or wrongly, airlines are fairly conservative in how they expect their pilots to look. Hair above the collar, no visible tattoos or piercings.

They will usually be looking for somebody who displays a professional attitude, demeanour and appearance. In the case of the latter, the term “well groomed” is a good benchmark. Let me put it this way....If a member of a rock band (something like Iron Maiden) wanted to be an airline pilot, what sort of hairstyle do you think he or she might choose?

They generally don't think it's appropriate. Even if they don't explicitly say it, they don't consider long hair professional. I'm not sure if it causes a problem during the interview but if not, after the interview it surely will cause a problem. I talk from experience, believe me. Sorry
