I received this generic email from them yesterday:

Dear applicant,

We thank you for your application and would like to inform you that you are still in the process for the B737 NG Type Rating Course - Self Sponsored.

We are currently screening all the applications and candidates who are suitable will be contacted when interview dates are confirmed.

Due to a high volume of applications, please do not reply to this email.

Thank you for your patience and have a nice day!

Kind regards
Norwegian Recruitment Team

Looks like they are still deciding who to invite for interview.

Good Luck

Now the question is... are they still checking if calling us?... or are they saying they will call the ones that received the email?

Looks more for the first one, isnt it?

Not a lot else we can do now I suppose, just wait out and see what happens. I know that they have recently taken plenty of people from FTE and Kura Aviation. Best of luck.

This intake from Kura and fte was earlier in the year. All busy doing type now but appears they are reviewing all applications and will invite those short listed. Guess it's all sit tight and wait.

Jet2 recruiting as well as others like THomson so expect their need to continue .....

@Stian_p: Sorry to hear that, mate! I wonder if it's a some kind of a bug..? My profile still works fine. Would be nice to hear from them, though.

I talked to a guy working for norwegian and ha said they don't hire Scandinavians at the moment, except from the guys at SAA and TFHS, that only hire cheaper southern pilots, ex Spain portugal etc .

I think it's safe to say we're no longer considered I mean, the position was advertised 9 (!) months ago!

I've got applications from 2 years ago that are still listed as "in progress" - just means they were too lazy to even click a button in their software to auto reject all open applications

NAS

Not waiting around for them -

Apparently they are continuing recruiting through CTC and other schools so why waste our time.... substandard company who take over 4 months to even organise type rating for successful candidates.....

Load of tosh

I've also heard that a number of people who were in the early 2016 intake were cut halfway through or near the end of the type rating course and lost their money. In the mean time I've gotten a job flying turbo-props. It's not a jet but it seems like a much better company to work for than Norwegian. I'm glad I never got the call now.

randomact I think there was possibly a reason they were cut. Like most airlines, they hire pilots because they need them. They also lose money when they cut pilots

Looking at Norwegian careers they have announced that Cadet and Low Timer recruitment will open at a later stage. Anyone knows approximately when? Last year they opened up for cadets in mid-march, correct?

About airline sponsored type rating

I hope to do my flight training with 2fly airborne, next year It's also an intergrated training programme(propilot programme) with 283 flying hours of experience within end of the programme of 12-13month.So,i contacted them and asked "what about the type rating?"....they answered my question saying "there are lots of Europian airlines who sponsore your flight training with joint partner ships with CAE"...and the airline will sponsor your type rating".....So,is it true???...Please help me to know about it,because you're an experienced individual,on that particula subject....

Hello,

It seems that the program is open again... I saw "Successful candidates will be offered a contract with OSM Aviation upon successful completion"
What is OSM, What is the contract after type rating (permanent or temporary)?
What could be the base?
Anybody who applied and have fresh info?

Regards,
