Norwegian Self Sponsored Type Rating
Norwegian seem to have started a self-sponsored (pay-to-fly) type rating scheme. You can find the application details HERE.
From what I hear, you pay your own expenses to attend the interview, sim check is on some kind of generic flight training device and, because there is no full sim assessment, you will be assessed during training instead. i.e. you could be leaving one job and then getted chopped during sim or line training as you have no contract of employment until passing final line check.
During training you get €100 per day (only for days of training) and pay your own accommodation (not sure where training is based). Once finished line trng you get Junior F/O pay of €3300 basic (up to 1500hrs) and then €4000 as F/O.
Sounds like a risky move to me, if you already have a permanent contract (I'm staying put!)
Ohh yeah, the cost is around €23,000 €

Sounds like a cheap p2f at least, not £30k like some members quote on this site. Perhaps an idea is to head to the likes of Simtech and do an assessment and sim training. Then you know if you are good enough beforehand?

The price is still ok i think, but if you have no job guarantee.......risky indeed. And if so, does one get a employee contract or is it on self employment basis?

I don't see the big difference between this contract and the one offered by the other big Low Cost Carrier. In fact you do not even get payed during your training with the other carrier or accommodation etc.
Just to be clear I am not defending either of these companies or their training policies towards low hour pilots, just fail to see the big difference!!

Well i confess, i applied. But i also admit i dont know the details. But what to do if facing unemployement and nobody else giving a chance.

If the details are like above, might be risky, but when you have no job at all, then it seems the only way out...
Sounds bit like RYR but still cheaper and better for the 100€/day, which are better than nothing.

You should receive it immediately after you submit your application and tells you that the application is well received. They will contact suitable candidates to schedule an interview and candidates who are not considered suitable will receive written notification by letter or e-mail.
