How many cadets did the previous/original MPL have?
From what I know, the original MPL intake a couple of years back only had about 25 (maybe even lower), nothing like today's numbers anyway.

If 25 is correct , i cant understand how they expect to place 60 MPL and another 180 route 2/3 cadets...

They're experiencing a huge increase in their pilot requirements at the moment and they really are short. This current drive is to make up for the current shortage, as well as provide for even further growth. This was part of an agreement BALPA struck with easyJet to settle a dispute with crew over fatigue in 2016, a promise to hire more pilots and relieve the roster pressure somewhat, literally a few weeks later easyJet then announced the "generation easyJet" programme.

Just feel that 25 to 240 is a big increase on an MPL
That is true, however not everyone is doing the MPL so the numbers are lower, I think the majority of the intake will be fATPL (both from the gen easyjet as well as whitetail guys getting placed) . Class sizes I think are around 6/7 a month for the MPL per school which should be manageable.

Aren't some of you supposed to be starting April? Doesn't leave much time if you only get the offer mid March.

There will also be September from what I'm told, and likely more, no last course month was given.

Bit late to the party....recently submitted an application to OAA. Do you think there will be Route 1 slots available once us recent applicants pass through stages 2 and 3?

Speedbird,

Who knows?

From what I'm reading OAA seem to get you through faster than CTC, i was less than 6 weeks from application to confirmation of passing stage 3 (still awaiting on which route i've been given).

From reading on here CTC don't open up dates to stage 2+3 that often. Possibly because they are running Virgin/Flybe and there own assessment as well as Easyjet.

So are the March and April starters on confirmed routes, I thought nobody had been assigned a route yet? Bizarre circumstances if you ask me.

Cheers Andy. 6 weeks is impressive. Best of luck, hope you get the route you want.

There were 3 April dates for CTC with dates also in May when I discussed start dates back in Feb. Waited one month after passing stage 3 to be told about route.

Anyone on yesterday's CTC Stage 3 heard anything? Could've sworn they said we'd find out today?
