People should not get route 3 mixed up with route 4.

Route 4 (at OAA) is simply whitetail, you must do an interview with easyJet at the end of it your training.

Route 3 is exactly as m585 explained ... you are an easyJet cadet.

My reservations are that I personally want the MPL and think the ATPL course is quite steep in price, but that is a personal thing for me.

@ 0.25 life crisis, Yes including the living expenses for 18 months.

Does anybody know whether some (or if any) of the previous Route 2 cadets managed to secure a MPL upgrade or land a job after doing route 3?

My understanding is that this 'routes' system for the easyJet tagged scheme is brand new. Before this set of applicants there was the MPL (route 1) and there was whitetail, so there won't be any previous route 2s or 3s to ask. Some may have started by now, I'm not sure - but no one will be finished yet.

However to answer your question, if you'll read my previous response above you'll see route 2s and 3s should all get easyJet employment, the same as route 1s, they'll just take a different, slower and more costly route to get there.

From OAA/Easyjet websites "route two"

"Generation easyJet applicants “Tagged” by easyJet, who demonstrate superior performance during ATPL ground school will be eligible for an “upgrade” to the CAE OAA easyJet MPL programme. The Integrated ATPL to MPL Upgrade scheme allows students to benefit from a significant reduction in course fees and gives them the certainty of joining easyJet at an early stage in their pilot training journey"

From Route three:

"The easyJet “tagged” CAE OAA Integrated ATPL pathway allows flexibility and enables candidates that were not selected for MPL to continue as a easyJet “tagged” cadet. With strong academic performance during ATPL ground school, students that go on to complete the CAE OAA Integrated ATPL course meeting easyJet’s rigorous training standards can enter the A320 type rating training programme without further selection screening"

I may be wrong but it seems that You have to meet certain requirements to meet that Tagged status (as said previously in this post at the discretion of the airline and those requirements aren't promulgated as said above. You dont seem to be protected as an easy jet cadet. Route two seems shrouded in mystery whereas route three is very clear that you pay upfront as a white tail and are simply offered the TR without the selection process. Am I not reading this right? Like I understand that they both end in employment but it seems to me like whether you meet the requirements is up for assessment by the airline during the course and if you dont then you are just a white tail correct? Which brings me back to the fact that unless you are route 1 then you are taking a huge risk as you aren't a "safe" easy jet cadet.

Again only those route two or three people will be able to truly say (which M585 rightly states)

It may be M585 that CTC is different?

Is anybody attending the open day at CAE OAA tomorrow? PM me if you want.
Maybe a face to face discussion with the so called 'training advisers' may highlight some clue.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a "safe EZY cadet". No matter which route you are given, there are standards to be met in training. If as an MPL cadet you fail to meet the standard, you may be dropped to the ATPL course (just as you are in Route 2), and as for Route 3, I suppose you would lose your EZY tag.

As M585 states the routes are delegated in accordance with a confidence level, that is, EZY's confidence in you to be able to complete the course to their standard. The MPL has higher standards, and the ATPL has slightly lower standards. If you are given a route, then EZY are saying they believe you will be able to complete that course and start working with them - hence no more selection once training is completed.

I've been given Route 3 at CTC and this is what I was told by them and current EZY cadets.

You don't need to worry about that at all! I know guys who have waited around 12 weeks to hear back with CTC and they've been successful in getting a good route. Just stay patient and it will come

I'm sure it will be and yes I have (sat phase 3 in November), route 2 - which gives me a little more motivation to do well in groundschool for the upgrade

Let us know how it goes!

I now have questions about their route 4 (AQC and TR with CTC/EZY) : do they prefer CTC modular students ?
Do they plan on keeping it open ?

Is there any chance to join CTC from a modular school (if so which one) without this route 4 ?
Thanks

Just to say that waiting around for tagged programs isn't unusual! The Virgin scheme last year, for example, had equal waiting times. Granted, with a larger intake easyJet may well be waiting around for a significant amount of you to interview, but nevertheless -- no news is good news.

Just my 2 cents here, but ctc seem abnormally slow in comparison to oxford. I applied to oxford had my stage 2 late november stage 3 early december and found out they offered me route 1 mpl first week of January, will be starting 21st of march, seems strange to me they are keeping you waiting so long

In hindsight, those still in the running can't really complain. Yes, it's annoying having to wait 'til the cows come home, but there are reasons behind everything. With the amount of pilots the company wants i'd hate to think how much admin there is.

Hi all, I've been a lurker for a while and haven't got round to registering until now. I attended the second available stage 3 on the 21st October and said I wanted the soonest start date possible. I was told I'd been successful early Novemeber and I'm still waiting for a start date so it's reassuring to hear a few of you are in the same position. I have been told via emailing OAA that only ~12 cadets have been informed on what route they are on so far. Just hoping that we all find out soon.

I did my phase three with CTC on the 13th December and am still waiting to hear back. As with you, I have not ever been told a route that I was going for or anything about start dates. They asked me when I thought I could start and obviously I said early as possible but that's it. Hope that helps a bit (at least there is someone else int he same boat as you!)

I applied to easyjet at OAA in december and got invited to stage 2 a few weeks ago. I´m attending the assessment on the 14th of february.
Realy don´t know how to prepare effectively. I´m revising all the basic physics stuff and am doing some maths exercises. Has anyone already done stage 2?

Those who have the technical assessment on Monday @ 08:30, I'm staying at the Pilgrim Inn just down the road Sunday - if anyone else is staying there and needs a lift up to Dibden Manor let me know.

Anyone in the area tomorrow evening? Would be cool to grab a drink somewhere or something to eat.
