I see there are a couple of people on here who have their Phase 2 (PILAPT + Numeracy) on the 23rd, what time is your assessment? I have mine at 12:30! Having already sat the assessment for CTC's 'Whitetail' program, I can reassure anybody waiting to sit the PILAPT and Numeracy that it's not overly difficult.
For the PILAPT, you have to pay attention to the instructions and, if necessary, read them a couple of times.
If you're really nervous about the day ahead, then I suggest you head over to LatestPilotJobs and pay $39.95USD to practice the tests (and the maths!!). It won't guarantee that you're going to pass, because CTC's standards change (for the easyJet MPL, expect them to be high so that they can cut numbers easily), however, it will prepare you for the day ahead and give you that all important edge. Even when prepared, you might screw your first attempt up due to nerves, but that's not necessarily bad... just as long as you show improvement after each attempt. Here's the order of the 2 hour session (from what I can remember):
1. Numeracy: 15 Qs in 15 mins. Hint: Smash out the first 12 Qs in about 8 mins so that you can spend more time on the final 3 harder Qs
2. Circle and Square: 5 different stages from 7 secs to 3 secs. Hint: Negative = Doesn't Have, Positive = Does Have... i.e. Negative Right Circle = Doesn't have a circle in their right hand.
3. Patterns: Look for the given shape in the two boxes, you have a choice of 0 (none), 1 (left) or 2 (right). Hint: Shape's orientation and size doesn't change. You get 1 min to decide, but you should aim to use no more than 30 secs.
4. Flying through boxes: Fly a plane through squares. Hint: the joysticks CTC use are not the best, so you need to be one step ahead of the simulation for the entirety of the exercise.
5. Attention test: 5x5 grid, colours along the top axis and shape down the side axis. When colour and shape match, then click the box. The axis change about every 10 seconds, so make sure you're paying attention. Hint: Make sure the colours match before checking if the shape matches.
6. Flight Director: Attempt to keep the crosshairs as central as possible... you get to calibrate the crosshairs before each attempt. Hint: Try to react as quickly as possible to the direction change of the crosshairs, that's what they're looking for.
6. Capacity Test (Only ONE attempt at each task)
6.1. Flight Director + Countdown: Attempt to keep the crosshairs as central as possible. At the same time, a countdown will be spoken. When the sequence changes, click the trigger. Hint: Work out what the next number in the sequence should be and mutter it under your breath, if it's different, click the trigger... remember the change in sequence, i.e. 563 -> 560 -> 556 (it's now 4 instead of 3).
6.2. Flight Director + Shapes: Attempt to keep the crosshairs as central as possible. At the same time, you'll be told a shape and it's colour. When it appears on the left side of the screen, you have to press a yellow button on a keyboard in front of you and then the number inside the shape. Hint: Repeat it in your head, and look for it out the corner of your eye.
6.3. Multitasking:
You'll be given a starting number and then the starting sequence number before the test begins. Hint: Mutter the expected number in the sequence under your breath.
Test Begins: Attempt to keep the crosshairs as central as possible. Hint: The faster your reaction time, the better.
You'll then be told a shape and it's colour. Hint: Keep saying it in your head and constantly look out of the corner of your left eye.
Note: This sounds a lot harder than it actually is, you've been prepared for this by having the practice runs before hand. Keep calm, collected and focussed and you can nail this. For my Whitetail assessment, I had the highest score of the day, 10 hits and 3 misses.
Good luck everybody!

Hi all, I had my first assessment in Dibden (maths/psychometric) yesterday and although I thought I'd messed up I'm through to group/HR stage when dates become available.
My question is, is there a further stage after this? If not, why do I see two more phases on the online portal?
Thanks!

I also had mine yesterday and passed, Congratulations!
As far as I know, Phase 4 is a simulator check, which assesses your general multitasking abilities at high stress levels.

Lewis

From what I understand there is indeed another stage after the next day at Dibden Manor, which is at easyJet HQ in Luton. I also understand that the pass rate from this final stage is fairly high as by that point they've already quite severely whittled down the numbers!

Aww thanks LE210, good to know there are a few of us ladies going for it too . Since you've completed your Group Interview stage as well, what is next after that? Did they tell you straight away if you passed or not? I was assuming that an EASA Medical would be the next step after passing the Group Interview stage?

Sat the maths/aptitude tests yesterday, and there were 4 girls there out of about 45 in the first 3 sessions of the day.

Cheers ScotWings
Thanks ScotWings. I just sent you a PM and then noticed you'd sent me one before, oops!
I'm currently in work doing my overtime til 1am, with my Maths revision books in front of me just to make sure I feel like I've done all I can do before the first assessment, hehe

Hi everyone, since I've applied, the earliest possible start date that I put on my intial application has been put back to the the end of January 2017. Does anyone know if this will have any affect on my application? I don't really want to book an assessment day until I know that the new possible start date is ok with CTC. I sent off an email to the selection team but I haven't heard back yet. Does anyone else's potential start date go into next year? Any information/help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

For anyone who has made the trip to Dibden manor from the airport, is thefts route the train to the central station, the number 9 bus to the Applemore Tesco and then a taxi to Dibden manor?
It seems to be from my research but would appreciate a second opinion from someone who has made the same journey. Thanks in advance

Congrats - I was also there yesterday (23/8, 12.30 slot) and also heard this morning that I'm through (despite some quite dodgy joystick operation in parts!)

Hey guys,
Looks like CAEOAA have announced their easyJet programme, I'm struggling to get the core info from it in terms of costs and course structure but I think all will be revealed on the 31st

Either the number 9 as you've suggested, or the number 8 to the 'Garden City' stop. From there it's about an 8 minute walk to CTC, though be careful as there's no pavement for part of the route - you can save yourself walking along the road as it goes round quite a right corner by heading through the churchyard. Both buses go from outside Frobisher House, less than a minutes walk from the main station entrance.

Has anyone booked onto the Phase 3 assessment on the 16/09 that can't make it?
I'm wary of having to go back home (to Australia) at some point in the near future. Although later dates aren't currently available, I'm assured by CTC recruitment that they interviews will commence in mid-late october, depending on easyJet. Please PM me if you can help!

Actually from what I've now read I think I was mistaken. They definitely used to do the extra Luton day but have seen some people saying it's now been condensed and the next stage is the last one. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can confirm!

Flight Director Test
Hi,
if it comes to the flight director test at CTC. Do you move the Attitude to the flight director like in the real plane or do you move the flight director to the attitude?
Would be great if someone can give me first hand advise.
Thank you.

Has anyone else been waiting for some time to get a date for the group exercise/interview phase? I passed the technical day back in July and haven't seen a date for the next stage since.
