I see the easyJet-ification of flybe continues apace.

Shame.

CTC handling Flybe's recruitment is not a rumour, it's a hard fact. As for when, well that's the million dollar question.

I got what looked very much like a standard email from Flybe yesterday advising that the existing Bond recruitment portal had now closed and if still interested, to reapply to CTC via the link that was attached.

Looks like its true alright. I saw this on their careers website just now. I guess we have to pay £250 for the privilege too

Flybe is delighted to announce our new on line portal for Pilot Recruitment and welcome applications from Captain and First Officer candidates.

Please note this is a new application portal and any pilot who has applied before via the previous system, needs to reapply on the CTC Application Portal

I can't say I'm surprised. Flybe's recruitment department consists of just one person nowadays, I think she was a bit snowed under. Still it's disappointing that it's gone the way of CTC.

So this new online application portal...

Anyone else getting an error message after submitting the additional questions?

Yep. Must be a bug or something. I get the following error message after trying to submit the Additional Qs:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e21'
Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.
/updateadditionalquestions.asp, line 27

Individual answers are limited to 400 words, but I note that the 'Current Status' section refers to a limitation of 400 characters - not sure if this is an issue or not.

I'm also getting messages saying certain details haven't been provided, even though they have and many times! (eg earliest available start date, and height and weight).

I've reported the problems to CTC via the error links, but no replies received as yet. Deeply frustrating.

I had the same issues with the missing information (height/weight etc) which had already been submitted. For some reason, entering the data on my iPad made the information stick...

As for the additional questions; from tedious trial and error, I found that it was the first question (why do you want to work etc...) that was causing the problem. Shortened it by a few sentences and it all went through ok. Still can't explain what the issue is/was.

It's not an event - Flybe's online recruitment portal has moved from Bond to CTC, that's all. All those who previously applied to the airline via the old portal have to reapply to CTC using the new application process (which is bugged and a complete ball-ache based on mine and other's recent experiences). Flybe (Jo Soper) sent an email out about the changeover a fortnight or so ago.

thanks for your reply HW.

Once you put your application, if successful you will be invited for an assessment day and then simulator session in Exeter.

I was enquiring about what this assessment day will entail.

thanks

Roger! Unless things have changed with CTC's involvement (pretty sure CTC are dealing solely with the upfront selection process, but I may be wrong) the interview and subsequent sim check are covered in earlier pages in this thread - appreciate this runs to 15 pages now, but well worth a read through in my view.

oh really?

I believe CTC's involvement is get a whole bunch of guys and do a selection day with their methods and an interview. Those that pass will be handed over the flybe for sim assessment.

So just interesting to see what the process is likely to be at CTC.....

I am going to be sorely disappointed if I answer 5 bone questions in no more than 2000 words only to be invited to a toilet selection day held by CTC and have to pay for the privilege. Does anyone know for a fact that this is not the case?
What I hear from inside Flybe is that CTC cadets are proving to be garbage and the company is in desperate need of FO's with some experience (both life and flying) that might make Captain in reasonable time. So why introduce an application form which only the most enthusiastic green types that Flybe are already inundated with can be bothered to fill out?

Doesn't this create a conflict of interest ? Flybe already take CTC cadets, and now CTC are running the recruitment process as well. Will they ensure their own cadets get preference over outsiders? I had an application in under the old system but now I'm having reservations about whether it's worth the bothering under CTC. They have their finger in way too many pies.

Hi All , To pass on a bit of gen , this is what CTC is sending out to those of us who've been selected : ''Morning : presentation about flybe, providing further information on the company, followed by a short question and answer session. You will then be asked to complete a set of computer based aptitude tests followed by group exercises in order to assess your interpersonal and team working skills. If your application is progressed to the afternoon session, you will then be requested to stay for an evidence-based interview. Those who are successful in the afternoon interview will be invited to attend a sim session . They do insist on the fact that no fees are payable for this assessment session . This was , BTW , for a DEC position but I suspect it will be the same for DEFO as well .
