Any chance of Easyjet underwriting loans this year? I know there was some talk of it but can't see anything on the finance page.

Type rating

This has been a good thread to read. Is it a slight advantage if you got a type rating on the jet prior to applying?
I am fully aware of threads saying don't pay for type ratings etc...
Is this a help when applying to easy jet etc?

Darren I think you've missed the point about the MPL. The idea is to take a cadet from having absolutely nothing to a restricted fatpl
with a320 type rating in the shortest possible time. There are restrictions governing experience (or lack of) needed to apply.

Restrictions

Oxford advise no more than 80hrs flight time to be eligible for their MPL. Don't see any restriction on the CTC
site (but I think a type rating would exclude you from both!)

Anyone joining now will accept a lower starting salary, take longer to reach the SFO scale, and will wait a hell of a lot longer for a command: I'd not expect anyone joining easyJet now to get to the left seat any sooner than 10 years after joining, and given the profile of current pilots, it may be CONSIDERABLY longer than that. If I was in a particularly pessimistic mood, I'd say that with minimal expansion and very low attrition rates, it could easily be 15-20 years to command for a new joiner. That is a BA timescale.
Utter rubbish.

easyJet MPL Programme

Hi,

just wondering if anyone had any information as to the exact criteria that is required to be selected for this programme? Are there any basic requirements that easyJet/OAA look for in candidates that are applying? Any information would be much appreciated.

Thanks

By the look of things a huge bank balance is an absolute must.

OAA Skills Assessment Stage 2+3 preparation

Hey there!

I've been invited to Stage 2 of the skills assessment at OAA for the easyJet MPL programme, and I was wondering how to best prepare for it. I've been using the search function but couldn't really find a satisfactory answer. If I missed something, I do apologize.

There are a few different online platforms available for training (e.g.: Pilot Aptitude Tests, Latest Pilot Jobs, ...), so I'd be glad if someone could advise me which one, if any, to subscribe to.

Since I'm not from the UK, I would also be glad if anyone could offer suggestions on how to prepare for stage 3 (group exercises and interview), if indeed I pass stage 2. I already participated in another skills assessment, but it was in Germany. I'm pretty sure the emphasis is a bit different in the UK. Any hints about online resources, books or general guidelines would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your valuable help!

Does anyone know definitively whether or not you can apply to both CTC and OAA? I know there has been some previous talk about this but nobody seemed certain.

Also, has anyone who has applied to OAA been contacted about initial selection stages yet?

Has anyone who has applied to OAA and not heard yet?

I have applied almost 2 weeks ago (15/04/14) and still haven't heard a jiffy

I understand that lots of people will be applying etc but wondering if anyone else is in my position?

Are you meant to assume its a no if you don't hear anything after a certain amount of time?

Bond.

Hi all,

Could anyone shed some light on the security bond (£69,000) offered at CTC.

I see no mention anywhere on the Oxford site that shows them offering the same bond (although they did for the BA FPP).

In effect without offering this bond it is going to be £69,000 more expensive to train at Oxford than at Southampton (as the money is transferred to EasyJet and payed back in addition to your remuneration package upon your signing of a contract with them). I don't think this can be right otherwise no-one in their right mind would opt for Oxford.

Please could someone shed some light.

Good luck to all applying!

Ben

Cheers for the response, I was under the impression that the wages were the same and the bond was in addition to the remuneration package.

"easyJet will, in turn, repay the £69,000 bond to you in monthly instalments over a period of seven years in addition to the salary commensurate with experience" - got this from the CTC EasyJet MPL finance page.

Where did you hear that the Salary is dropped in relation to this bond repayment?

Has anyone heard back from OAA as of yet?

It took over two weeks for OAA to get back to me. Their stage two assessments start this week.

By Stage 2 are you talking about the Aptitude Testing?

I was aware that this had begun on the 23rd April and since e-mailing to request carry-over of my previous scores, I haven't heard a reply? Can anybody clarify further?

Aptitude testing is still taking place and has been running for at least a week. The last time I checked the final date available for this was May 15th but its likely that this period could be extended.

Using previous stage 2 scores

I have also requested to use previous Stage 2 scores and haven't heard anything back yet. I was planning to call them tomorrow to check they received the E-mail. Glad someone else is in the same position though.

I'll let you know what they say.

I applied over the bank holiday.
Hopefully it won't take long to hear back.

Do they do an initial 'sift' from applying?

I noticed that CTC have opened up applications. The big things that stick out to me are:

1. No mention of the expected easyJet guaranteeing the loan. It still states "Security Required: Mortgage over a property in the UK"

2. Like Oxford, no final stage at easyJet HQ. This is a concern as if easyJet have delegated the selection, then do you have to undergo additional selection down the road? Do you have a contract with easyJet from the start like BA?

From my point of view the main difference with Oxford / CTC is that you do the basic phase of the MPL in a A320 simulator (vs a CRJ? at Oxford). I guess you could say thats good and bad. Would be nice to have some experience of something other than a sidestick to base your career on? On the other hand the more time in the A320 the better.. What are peoples view on that?

Also I read that 3200 applied last year, thats only a few hundred less than applied to the FPP. Shows how far easy have come in the last few years..

Hi everyone,

is this recruitment just for JAA or also for international applicants?
