I realize that this is really late notice, but can anyone help me?Were in the process of moving house and so only have mobile internet (through a dongle) at the minute. when I registered for the tests, began the first questionnaire I lost internet connection and when I tried to go back onto it the system through I had logged out and blocked me from completing the 'measurement of competencies' assessment. I've email the support team but fear they wont reply in time by tomorrow and noticed that someone else mentioned its a bank holiday in ireland. Does anyone know of a contact number that I could try? or has anyone else been blocked in one of the assessments and came to a solution? or is there even any chance of someone replying to my email tommorrow? Id appreciate any help, thanks

I'd relax Abd.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I mailed them and they replied promptly. They will give you a fair chance to complete the assessment and realise that there are glitches with the system. You will be given a chance to start it again.

Hope this helps you sleep tonight!

abd, agreed with the last poster. From reading all the comments here over the past few days, there seems to have been a lot of problems over the weekend affecting a lot of people, so they're going to have to take all that into account. I also hit the panic button on Saturday when the system was down for maintenance, but it came back up again so all was OK. I'm sure they'll be inundated with guys calling on Tuesday morning to explain their respective stories, so probably best to just relax and see how it pans out over the next couple of days. They will have to ensure everyone gets a fair crack at the assessments. Good luck with sorting it out.

Obsessive email checking has started. I presume this is all operating on a computerised system so hopefully that means we'll be put out of our misery soon! Good luck to all

AL

Anybody else do the tunnel with a wireless mouse?b I did and found it so difficult to move to the center it just wouldn't respond on time... Mouse said no

I found the verbal reasoning and shapes the hardest... But I'm sure everybody had their individual strengths & weaknesses!

The spotting relations one was tough I thought, I wasn't actually sure if you were supposed to always make 2 black and 2 grey or if you could have an uneven spread of maybe 1 grey 3 black X)

Wireless is only good for basic office work. For any accuracy you need a wired mouse

I actually found the hardest test to be the verbal reasoning (the questions from the text). Awful, absolutely awful. The rest was mostly easy though.

I used a Logitech wireless mouse and had no issues with the complex control, but then maybe I'd have done better with one! Oh well not any point in worrying about it now...

Quite possibly. I just check my spam at the end of each day if I've had nothing in my inbox during the day. I've whitelisted the aerlingus.com domain so don't expect it to go to spam, but you can never be too careful.

Do you not have push mail (or at least push mail notifications)? Nearly all mobile phones etc. now support this so you'd be notified the instant you get the mail. Seems a little antiquated to manually check your mail?

Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited about this opportunity but it seems daft to check your mail so obsessively when it's extremely unlikely you'll have to respond within 24 hours etc.

Each to their own tumtiddle, everyone is just excited. No need to put a negative spin on it, we're all in the same boat

Yeah of course I have push mail, still gonna check it, unlike you I cannot contain my excitement, I wish I could considering I nearly wet myself when I got the first e-mail through about online assessments

It's not the responding I'm worried about, it's the waiting and not knowing. I just (like most people) want this so much and have wanted it for years...

Thumbs up Be realistic

Folks, I opened this thread
It is a great opportunity but it is for a few , that is a shame.

Well done for keeping this thread so positive,

In Ireland the leaving certificate started today some of these students will
Have applied for this cadet ship

Best thing to do at this stage is try and focus on what parts of the
Process you could improve on if you resit the tests for the next program
Either with EI or any other cadet ship , this was a learning experience
For everyone, a real test for a real job,
I know EI will move a good number to the next stage , no idea how many
But relax so far so good BUT don't waste the knowledge you have
Experienced and or learnt to date, document the sections you want
To improve on next time, if you miss out this time,

It is very competitive out there an extra couple per cent next time
May be critical

Also follow the threads boards.ie , pprune , lingussource.com and Friday EI have a press release coming soak up the background news

Well doe to date
