A C1 medical will set you back around £350. Add onto that any travel expenses involved and it's suddenly quite a lot of money to spend on something that you will only need if you're lucky and get on the course. Above is correct, you don't need one when you apply, but you should read the CAA website on the level of health required and make a sensible decision on whether it's likely you'd be able to acquire a C1 or not. I'd imagine most people who can't get one fall down on the eyesight part. If you are fairly young with no serious health problems and have half-decent eyesight then you're probably going to be completely fine in this regard.

I applied on the 25th, got an email from them than evening saying I've got 2 applications current. Had a response the next morning (friday) from them saying the original application was cancelled, my easyJet one still stands and shows it's submitted when I log in but I've had nothing back regarding that. Hopefully I'll hear back something in the next few days!

Ok, thanks for clearing that up!

Received a couple of PM's regarding the day, so just to add my 2 cents. Everything i read on here and the net in general about the day was spot on.

Meet at Dibden in the morning, there were 12 of us on my day. Split into 2 groups.

My group completed maths & pilapt first, then went on to complete a couple of group exercises.

Had lunch, after which the group was whittled down (those who unfortunately hadn't made it through the morning), leaving the rest to have 35-45 min 1-on-1 interviews with one of the ladies we had come into contact with during the day.

General advice would be to relax and stay sharp the whole day, they don't try to catch you out. Maths is accomplishable, just brush up on the basics and get used to working under time pressure.

Still have my fingers crossed regarding progressing to the next stage, and good luck to all applying too!

Hello there buddy. First and foremost really do appreciate your feedback regarding the day. If you don't mind could you tell me a few other things just to put myself further at ease...What types of questions were there in the maths tests and other tests that you took. Also how many questions and how long did you have to do them. What was asked in the interviews, group activities and if you can shed some light on pilapt. Think I am just a little nervous to be fair but make the most of it I guess. If there is any other tips you can maybe give will be a great help.

In your opinion how many applicants got through to the selection day as you said there were 12 of you guys and tbf there are not many assessment days.

Thank you very much

Just out of interest what days are people having the assessment day on? Is it only Fridays and Mondays?

@Carter1: 4 of us made it through to the afternoon stage.

@15206: How many started the day?

We were briefly discussing this on our assessment day, and as it seems they were quite keen to emphasize starting July/Aug if we were lucky enough to make it that far, it is possible that the first few assessment centres will, say, recruit 18 or so of the 36, and then later assessment centres would do the same for the remaining half starting Sept.

Who knows!

I was told today i'd been lucky enough to make it through to the next stage at easyJet out in Luton. I know others from my assessment day received the same good news too, so good luck to anyone else waiting.

On the next stage, i've not seen any posts about what to expect at this stage (Phase 4)? I was expecting a simulator as part of the assessment day but it has been mentioned that it will be mainly a group exercise and interview.

Any advice appreciated.

I applied on Saturday and got a rejection from CTC on Monday.

That was sort of surprising as I meet all the minimum requirements, have a degree, no gaps in employment and a PPL.

I thought I'd at least get through to the first (non-application) stage. It's worth noting that I got to stage 3 for the BA FPP with OAA.

Someone I know who was there also stated the low progression rate from Stage 1 to Stage 2 (something around 1/7th got invited to the assessment day) so don't beat yourself up too much. I suspect unlike the BA scheme time is not on the side of the FTO's this time round, therefore they've had to make a quick decision and not progress with some applications which might have got further with other airlines.

15206 & AnotherWannabe.....the mystery has been solved. It appears I was too stupid to click the continue button to reveal the next section of questions, i.e. the long ones I had wondered why the application seemed so short

Totally my own fault but relieves my mind a little. I do think there should have been some validation on the form to alert me to the unanswered fields but oh well, maybe next time.

Best of luck to you

CAVOK2012 that's frustrating to hear! The application website is far from polished that's for sure.

I rushed through mine (at the time I was applying after the closing date... only to find that closing date extended after I finished!) so god knows how that will pan out! I too made it to stage 3 BA, and mentioned that in the application. I'm not sure if this is wise or not. Easyjet may not take to fondly to me harking on about BA in their application! On the other hand the timing of this opening and the fact that it is being handled by CTC might mean that theyre fully expecting some BA application rejects such as myself.

I'm still not 100% sure about this offer though. A friend of mine who flew for ezy seems to be far from convinced that it is a good offer. What are other people's thoughts?

Just got told I didn't meet the selection criteria... which baffles me slightly. Is that just CTC's way of saying my answers weren't good enough?

I would expect them just to say "you were unsuccessful" if that were the case...

I got the same "did not meet the selection criteria" response. Not sure whether that is just their way of saying "not good enough" or whether something in my application was actually amiss?

Hamsterminator and contacttower118.2,
Sorry to hear that. You didn't accidentally skip the essay questions did you ?

Definitely not, I went over it several times and was reasonably happy with my responses.

I would just be curious to know if anyone else who was unsuccessful got a different rejection message.
