I'm exactly the same Ryan. I've getting used to rejection! I genuinely gave it my everything too. I've been preparing since last year. Was my performance the best on the day? No, it definitely was not. The pilot part went well but the HR bit was a bit of a blur and I know I could have answered the competency questions miles better than I did. It's going to be a tough nights sleep.

Nervous pretty much sums it up for me. We are 9 hrs ahead here too so it will be late evening. Trying to keep busy to prevent constant checking of e mails. Either way, it will be good to know and then move on one way or the other. Once you've got over the delight, let us know how you get on. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

funky - At least you know you're not alone, and there will be others in our shoes too. I always find that it is far easier to remember the negatives from an interview as opposed to remembering the positives, therefore all you can do is try and focus on what went well and approach tomorrow's email with a positive outlook - regardless of the outcome. If we are unsuccessful, then the FPP obviously wasn't our route, but that doesn't mean we won't approach BA in the future.

@claudiaupear - I'm definitely not jealous of your situation due to the time difference, but you have obviously approached the interview in an enthusiastic and committed mindset so I wish you all the best.

This time tomorrow we should all be out of our stressful waiting misery one way or another, hopefully for the better! I've got my fingers crossed for everyone here that it's a good email we get.

Feeling pretty sick with nerves myself now, just keep trying to remind myself of positives but it's so hard to ignore all the niggles about what could have gone better! Got a 10hr flight tomorrow so if I recieve bad news, taking my mind off it won't be easy.

@claudiaupear - I believe 9hrs time difference means birthday wishes are required...here's hoping it's one to remember for a good reason

Thumbs up

Counting down by the hour now rather than by the day - I'm working from Slough this week and pretty much right under the flight path for Heathrow departures. 2nd attempt for me, feeling pretty much the same as the rest of you (a bit of a wreck) and will be very glad once this is all over - but truly gutted if the news is not good.

I'm realising now that although I took this job to be close to Heathrow and to allow me to visit the London airports, Waterside and various other locations as and when I want, and so better prepare for the FPP (Manchester is not so convenient), it's going to make it very difficult for me if I have to sit here and watch BA planes going over for the foreseeable future - so near and yet so far is certainly the case!

We have to remain positive - it has been a long journey, but we are almost at the end. A much longer and greater journey beckons; I'm looking forward to taking it with you all.

I feel for you guys, the pain you all must be going through must be hellish. You are all worthy of a place in this scheme!
Good luck!

Sounds like everyone is feeling nervous, which is pretty understandable (I'm in the same boat as a few of you on my 3rd and final chance). Don't wanna get peoples hopes up too much but remember there's a place for all of us at this stage and we've all already passed all the important stuff (the tests that determine we can actually pass the training course and fly aeroplanes thereafter) so the final interview was probably more about personal presentation and cultural fit with BA. I know my interview didn't go perfectly but hopefully a few niggles will be overlooked as it sounds like a lot of us have done the same thing. Good luck again to everyone, fingers crossed for good news all round come the 'morrow!

By coincidence, I have this appointment that I have been dreading with the dentist, tomorrow 20/5 (I mean for root canal treatment, whether they use any general anaesthatic, I have no idea but I've asked in the past) TBH, your discomfort is understandable but a very good one which I would have loved to share.
Somethings are better left unsaid but the thoughts and imaginations of what w/could be, can be so unsettling. That said, mine doesn't compare to what you are handling. Maybe mental toughness would help!

Well tomorrow is the day. It's going to be like opening up a potentially winning lottery ticket but instead of numbers, it'll simply be a yes or a no...

I'm wishing everybody the absolute best of luck. I am in no doubt that you would all make fine pilots. I really hope everybody gets the news they've been waiting for. Everyone I have spoken has demonstrated fantastic motivation and whether or not we are successful tomorrow we WILL achieve this dream. It's an eventuality so don't ever give up..

Fingers crossed.

Funkyt111. Hope you get some sleep! It's Wednesday morning already here in Australia. Couldn't agree more with your sentiment. I have a newspaper cutting of a 12 year old version of me, expressing my wish to become a pilot. Well, you know which birthday I have coming up..so it has been a long long long commitment and today is the day it may just pay off for us. Wishing you all the very best and look forward to hearing all your good news.

Claudiaupear,

Your story was fantastic. I absolutely loved it and I think its fantastic what you are doing. Never give up regardless of what happens tomorrow. Life is too short to not chase your dreams! You'll 100% get there.

I've just managed to come through (ahem dentist's); It's relief for me though finally! I'm hopeful this day will bring you too, yes you, relief and the start of your next chapter into your dreams. Good luck!

Hope you at least find out before you catch your flight! Waiting for 8 or so hours for news would kill me!

I wonder when the emails will come - the suspense is a real struggle, can't say I've ever felt this tense before

With you there Ryan! In the office in Slough desperately trying to get some work done and jumping up each time my phone picks up an email (which is usually a notification of a post here, so sorry if I've just set you all off again with this one )

Depending on news, I'd certainly be up for a quick meet up with anyone in the area later (I'm a long way from home!). Bluefish - what time are you flying out?
