Travelling for work

Dear all,

A once keen Military man i am looking to move onwards and the possibility of working the commercial sector.
Currently doing my PPL and then hopefully hour building etc so i am to a 250hr, CPL + IR standard.
Having spent a year in New Zealand in my younger years i am keen to return and look at employment in their avaition sector.
Anybody here have any ideas as to whether companies even bat an eye lid at low hours pilots or is a case of get into a company in a different role and work my way across?

Thanks in advance and regards,

Sam B

G'day Sam,
Do you have the right to live and work in New Zealand? Have you investigated work visas and so forth? That will be your first hurdle.

Have a look in Dununda, Godzone and the Pacific Forums for more guidance regarding work.
Generally, low houred pilots in New Zealand head to Australia or do instructing work and the like. It is unusual for low houred pilots to get taken on in an airline.
Then of course, there's the licence conversion, however, that'll be the least of your hassles.

Good luck.
