What is going on at Flybe?
Anecdotal evidence suggests that Flybe are losing people hand over fist. They are also promoting from within onto the Embraer- which in theory means there should be jobs available on the Q400.
Anyone know why their recruitment website says that they're not recruiting at the moment? Rumours as to when they might open it up again?

MPL, MPL, MPL......
Why would they use other schools when they have their own MPL scheme at Exeter?
Used to take Flying Instructors / experienced GA pilots as well as a Cabair scheme some time back but self styled MPL is just too profitable to go back....

but they are taking people from other schools. I have an email from them from 2-3 weeks ago specifically telling me they are hiring through PTC right now, because I asked them.
I REALLY SHOULDN'T BE HERE
Steady trickle of departures, steady trickle of arrivals, steady trickle of new commands, steady trickle of type conversions from Dash to EJET. Nothing dramatic.

Flybe don't run any MPL courses at EXT. They use 2 well-known FTOs to run the MPL courses which they part-sponsor. This sponsorship is repaid interest free over 5 years, so hardly a profitable enterprise.
As for the mass exodus, the seniority list suggests otherwise. As has been stated, it is a steady trickle of people, measured in single figures each month, and this creates only a small number of external opportunities currently filled by Flybe cadets on sponsored & mentored courses at 4 FTOs.
The number of internal jet opportunities has come about largely by the introduction of the E175 and the retirement of a number of older Q400 airframes on top of the 'normal' movement.

There's no MPL cadets in the system at the moment to be in a position to start online for a good while to come. The hold pool is being topped up and there will be courses run in the spring to cover the summer program.

Flybe are recruiting new pilots for the Q400 aircraft fleet.
However there are lots of guys who have been working in there ops, cabin crew departments etc for a couple of years now who are after promotion within the company. i.e pilots without a flying job. these people are now starting to be offered there first flying job.

It may well be one of the "integrated crowd" getting a job a few years down the line.
I for one am one of those who has recently got a cabin crew position at an airline I'd love to eventually fly for. I was clear at my CC interview that I would eventually like to work in the flight deck and they seemed keen to have someone that is likely to hang around and be loyal to the company.
Not everyone straight out of FTO's goes straight for the first and (at the moment) only option.
