EasyJet SO Position Q (Out of date info)
I have just been reading upon the requirements to become an SO for EasyJet on Pilot Jobs Network. It states:
"SO
SO positions may appear due to the newly-agreed entry pay scales, negotiated between easyJet and BALPA. Pay rates slightly better than with CTC flexicrew scheme. Move up to FO after 1500 easyJet factored hours experience. [Flight school details: Through the CTC wings program, you have to be less than 34. Also Ab Initio's from CAE-NLS are recruited via CAE and from Oxford recruited via GECAT. Accept entry up to 40. Cadets must now pay for TR through CTC, approx GBP30k. Once through expect to work for GBP1000 per month refund of your fees for 6 months. Thereafter may get cabin crew work. UPDATE September 2010: Oxford graduates now pay 35000 GBP for TR and linetraining. Afterwards 50E per flight hour. Summer contract, no fixed contract or Job guarantee.]"
It is basically the sentences "Once through expect to work for GBP1000 per month refund of your fees for 6 months. Thereafter may get cabin crew work" that i would like to question.
How many people have actually gone through to Easy and after a 6 month contract and paying out £30k+ have become cabin crew? feels like a kick in the teeth to me. I would like to hear peoples experiences if they have gone through this or how people dodged the bullet.

That info is more than a year out of date (posted Sep 2010). As far as I'm aware CTC wings cadets pay something in the order of £8000 pounds towards TR not £30,000. Maybe someone else can confirm?
I don't think any cadets have had to work as cabin crew this year.
