Why do you have to be 23 to work for Susi Air?
Yeah, does anybody know why/how strict they are on this?

I have heard that they are conducting simulator assessments now at susi air interview on Cessna 208.
Not sure if this is the case. I was there just 10 days ago and the sim assessment was in a PA28 sim. They want to test your instrument skills.

Thanks

Two days ago I received an email that I am invited for Susi Air. I had to replay which days would be ok. I am still waiting for the conformation of Susi Air. Does anyone know how long it take till they send the conformation and is it a good idea to call them?

It takes how long for you to receive invitation from the date you apply? I've waiting for very long time since August.

Why fly for Susiair

Indonesia is a lovely place. While flying in Indonesia can be a bit tricky, most of the Captains are well experienced and capable people. Susiair is not a well run company and they continually try to expect their piolts to fly illegally! Pay is meager at the start and the food is hard to live on. Any young pilot deciding to try and work there should seriously think of PNG instead. At least the rules are followed over there and you are looked after???

The food is fine.
You cant expect an asian to go to Denmark to eat smorgsbord everyday can ya?
If you expect to come to Indonesia to eat your local food from wherever you come from on a daily basis, u are sorely mistaken. Do learn to eat local food, or cook for yourself.
The kitchens archipelago-wide prepare a good mix of european cuisine and local as well.

Otherwise--- don't come.

And take a concrete pill.
U will be better for it.

Harden up princess.

I'm 21 years old, sent my application on 27 October and today I got the invitation for December interview in Jakarta... so the age restriction seems not to be a problem!

Jaco, be carefull !
Do not spend money for a airline ticket to Jakarta, until you are sure they haven't made a mistake or overlooked your age.
I am sure they have the 23 year age ristriction.
Good luck !

I confirm 23 isn't age limit, they reply:
"For the age it not a problem if you are 21 and will turning 22 in January. You can upgrade to Captain after you flight with Susi Air 100 hours.

now I have to see if a job as bush pilot in Indonesia can be a positive experience or not!
