Aegean airlines is currently hiring contract pilots for the summer season. As far as I am aware, the mini-base in Cyprus has not yet been made permanent. The airline wants to monitor how it goes and then decide if it will remain. If it does, expect quite a large recruitment after the summer. However, in the previous years when Aegean has recruited they want pilots fluent in Greek and English, and you must be below 33 years of age by the assesment date.

The mini base has already a 145 on site via a contractor with 3 flights a day,
the 145 is already hiring more engineers so I am confident it will stick around
comparing at the prices between other competitors and Aegean.
Regarding the age limit, friends that attended the selection last year, have told me that the limit is 31.I hope you are right and they are wrong.

The fact that engineers are being hired doesnt mean anything unfortunately. Im not saying I dont think they will keep the base, because I think they will.
As far as the age limit is concerned, im 99% sure that the age limit is 33. And actually you can be 33, but not 34.. So its all ages up to and including 33 years of age. Last year maybe they changed it to 31 because they had alot of applicants. If Aegean were to hire low houred pilots again though, im positive they will make their requirments more restrictive, simply because they are aware of the fact that there are ALOT of low time pilots in Greece right now without jobs, and that every single first officer from Cyprus will also apply, because CY isnt doing too well right now. They clearly cannot sustain having to test 300+ pilots...

Well im not a lawyer, but MANY airlines have age limits.. They dont need to say it openly, they can just not accept a cv from someone who is older than what they want, and just not call them in for an interview. Result is the same

I know they have had some pilots without Greek language knowledge. But according the information I have now, you must be fluent in the Greek language to be considered for a job offer. Please correct me if I am wrong.

You have to be fluent in Greek to be on permenent contract. Aegean does have foreign non-greek speaking pilots, but they are type rated with hours, and only come in for 6 month contracts. Greek is mandatory for all other pilots in Aegean.

A bit of insider information says that these contracts will only be temporary. AEE will probably hire low timers, as they usually do, after the summer season is finished. Stay tuned.

Its the GAPF test organised by Dr Peter Braun. Its an apititude test that is very difficult to prepare for. There is a test where you monitor paremeters like temperature pressure and volume of coolant of a nuclear reactor. Thats all I remember.
Working through aptitude and pyschometric books does not help either.
Good luck

As far an I am aware, Aegean does not conduct these test for experienced contract pilots. I think its just a simple interview and maybe an A320 technical test. But I highly doubt they will conduct the GAPF test for contract pilots.
