Applied few months back and only received a receipt from them.

I received another e-mail about a week ago where they again confirmed that they received my application etc.. pretty much the same as the receipt I got as soon as I sent in the application.

Not sure what the purpose of the e-mail was, still haven't heard anything. Basically just said that they would call if I met the requirements etc.

recruitment

From what I have seen they only seem to be recruiting low our ab initio guys at the moment straight from flight school (some that havent even completed an MCC), very frustrating for all of us out her that have been working for years building hours waiting patiently for this opportunity to come around. We seem to be in a black hole hours wise, too many for the airlines looking for newbies and not enough for airlines looking for experience. Keep plugging away guys and we'll get there eventually.

Not quite true. It seems they have been going through the applications again and sending out repeat emails to people saying they have received the application.

A friend has an interview with them next week. 2000hr TP

Good luck!

AerLingus

I also applied for AerLingus and have not heard anything yet from them but i did hear they got over 3000 applications, so we could be waiting a while!
Especially with the cabin crew strikes at the moment

If you do not get an interview for Flight Deck there is a 'back door' opportunity advertised on the Aer Lingus website

Aer Lingus: About Us - Aircraft Cleaners

I understand that modular candidates will have a head start as they are more likely to have had experience cleaning bars etc around Dublin. However CTC Cadet candidates will not be discriminated against . Aer Lingus expects to create a holding pool for cleaners as they are likley to be overwhelmed with candidates for these 'exciting positions' which offer 'full airline benefits'

When you apply you will receive an email which states "...Aer Lingus will be in contact in the near future with those who best meet our criteria..."

Note that the training offered is the Airbus 'Tech Stop Operational Support Executive' which is only delivered in Toulouse. Only candidates who pass the theory exams with a mark of 85% or more and passes the 'Lavatorial Test' in the first series will be accepted. Aer Lingus regrets that if the candidate fails these tests, no altrentive employment will be offered

Herc708,

I think i would do well in the lavatorial test, at least that's what my wife says. This literally is a backdoor opportunity! Lol

I applied for a ground job in Aer Lingus recently, not as a cleaner, didn't even get a standard email reply. Enquiries revealed the job was gone the minute it was advertised. Actually before............

From past experience, if you haven't heard any more by now. You won't.

I just got a call for interview next Thursday from Aer Lingus HR based on my application from before Christmas. Unforunately I've already sprung for a TR with another operator (with a firm job offer before stumping up the cash - the most important factor IMHO) and am well stuck in to the course and enjoying it thoroughly.
Never mind eh, it's another opportunity for someone else. There is still hope out there...

WG100, Aerlingus HR probably saw this thread and retracted the job offer for the guy who lied about failing an IR checkride, and then called you!

Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask at an Aer Lingus interview? And is there good atmosphere?
