Is it true, that THY has a program for ab initio candidates? I had a small chat with Turkish pilots they told me, SXS/THY have. However, I already had looked on the website of thy.com, they only look for experienced pilots.
Maybe I haven't looked carefully, or is there another source?

Morning Gents,
Anyone got invited for Assessment late Jan? if so lets get in touch.
On a side note, any additional information about low hour TR A320 candidates is welcome, especially about SIM profile or technical questions, if there were any.
Kind Regards,
Blues.

As I know there will be job openings for foreign inexperienced pilots in February/March.

Unfortunatelly I flew too many years for that airline and must confirm this lack of professionalism. Everywhere you have good and bad guys but in THY particulary you find a combination of arrogance, ignorance and respect based on seniority and not knowledge.
Many old stubborn military captains who consider a good CRM when the FO shuts up and says "Yes my teacher".
THY missed the RWY in Kathmandu because CPT even briefed that he will go below minimum at an NPA and FO just replied "Yes my teacher".
In many cases you have a language barrier in the cockpit because many old cpt hardly speak english but fly a jet with 400 passengers all over the world. Just because of the high automation we don´t see a THY crashing every month. They squeeze the stuff to the max in duty times, bad salary in local currency, no rights, no requests possible, vacation 20 days per year (12 winter and 8 summer) and the vacation is given when they want.
Salary deductions if you are sick more then 2 days force pilots to work sick with flu and fever. If you need therapies they offer you to take unpaid leave where you don´t have any health or other insurance and no stuff tickets. THY fired last year 14 crew members because they established a new union to represent cabin and cockpit crew.
This combination of arrogance and ignorance is leading to accidents but they simply don´t care. THY has a culture of lying and cheating and intimidation. If a checker fails an old military pilot he looses his instructor title. 3 years ago they put young pilots from the flight academy on A330. They make 2-4 landings per month... Catastrophic management failures just guided by narrow minded greed. THY lost more then 1000 pilots in the last 2 years and replace experienced pilots by young guys from the academy and consider themselfs extremely smart...
Of course you have also great educated, cultivated and motivated people in THY trying to fight against these uneducated managers who are sent from the government without having any qualification for their positions but they resign, get fired or simply loose their belief that anything will change.
THY is not paying anything for your retirement. You´ll get 100€ in turkish currency and that´s it. For widebody expat captains they pay 350€ housing allowance or the hotel for all other crews nothing. No money for childrens' education and in turkey education costs a fortune. People get fired when they are sick or trying to improve something. Beware that everything is happening behind your back there. Nobody is honest to you although you´ll find a few friendly persons.

Hi guys, some of you asked me about assessment in PM and because most of you exceeded your PM storage I'll write it here...
You can't prepare for Group-crm, HR or medical (you can but you will be fake and they will know it), but you should prepare for SIM and technical interview. SIM is mostly raw data with ILS app, and engine failure for type rated candidates (like in every other company). You will receive scenario and jeppesen charts a day before. They will help you if you need it, just do your best... Standards are high, but they understand that you dont have experience. You should study ATPL and type related questions but the questions defer from examiner to examiner...
I know that many of you want to know every detail because you are scared and in the dark, and this can be easy for me to say but just relax and be yourself, and do your best. Now, all you can do is to study and take some SIM sessions if you can. And maybe work out because medical is also strict
Stay in touch with your group cuz you will need all the info you can get, and you'll make some new friends. Its not a competition, they take everyone who is within their standards, just be better than yourself.
Good luck!
