Hello,
1. THY recently selected a pilot from IRAN, many from Pakistan as a pool of type rated pilots is available; Shaheen Air Int operations came to a halt with 150 rated pilots.
2. They may not consider NTR Pilots at this point because of above reason.
3. They are inviting pilots in batches of 8 at a time.
4. The assessment is quite normal, for which no prep is required.
5. There assessment is very fair, with no discrimination. Everyone gets a fair chance. They are accepting everyone who gets thru the process.
6. The group exercise of first day; only requires necessary general aviation knowledge and reasonable expression (including ELP).
7. Document check is no issue if you meet all requirements.
8. Simulator is quite normal for those with good manual flying / raw data flying skills. One Raw Data Approach, one OEI approach on FD.
9. The medical is tough for over 50.
10. If you pass all, you get a call in 1-2 weeks with letter of Invitation for Work Visa / Permit.
Yes I have gone thru the process successfully.

There is a company offering permanent employment in THY after assessment on 8.Dec, asking 15.000 euros after you are accepted. The same thing we are waiting for but you pay to have a chance.

Funny development, I guess they tried to get some payment quickly because I just received an invitation from THY for the screening on the 8th of December. Back story is that I have applied early this year (May) and my first date which was then canceled was 16th of July.

You didn't understand. I applied and was invited by THY directly not from "pay to fly", and because I was the first group that was canceled in JULY now they invited us first. That means that other will be invited to, so expect to be called. As I said I applied in MAY.
Regarding pay to fly, I was just interested on what they offer and for what airline, and that is the reason I contacted them few days ago. I am strongly against that because it gives a chance to those who can pay and therefore I am not gonna promote them. And as you see, THY invited me the regular way as they will invite others in some order, they are a major airline and they need people.
I will post my experience when I go through the process.
Cheers!

SEPTEMBER: Got "OCT onward" email, and also individual email that my assessment is going to be in OCT.
OCTOBER: Got email that they don't have available slots in the SIM and that they will contact us from DEC onward.
19.NOV: Invited for the assessment on 8.DEC

@Miljnik
Thanks for the update,i guess they shortlisted candidates because i didn`t got that october email you mentioned, last one for me was september mail.
TR is the key i guess, but at least they could inform NTR candidates that they are not being considered anymore.
Anyways thanks again for info, and good luck with assessment.

I dont think that they are not considering NTR candidates. Yes, if you have TR you can start right away, but if you don't they can choose if they need you on the boeing or the bus... And to get Type Rated you need 2-3 months which is not that long when you think about it, plus you are fresh from the training. I believe that I was in the first group that got canceled in July and now they call us first, so maybe expect to be called in the next couple of weeks?
I also believe that they will invite candidates until they fill the need. And if you consider their orders are due in the next few years and plan to further expand the fleet, that "need" will increase...
