GPTC

Thanks Wigwag,, I kind of get the same feeling in my gut about the company, just a little desperation on my part I guess. However, Im in a situation being that I want to get my A320 type and 500hrs line to work in Asia and I just have to find a way,,, trust me I dont have that kind of money laying around, but Im willing to take out loans to get it done,,,given whats available to me in the US ,I just think the only way to get there is to go through a PTF program , but trying to find a legitimate one has been the challenge.. thanks

If you must do it, contact Jonathan Curd at http ://www.a320typerating.com/

Contact me for more details..

By the way Jonas is a crook. Dont ever pay t$50,000 for his information on Armavia airlines, he will even give you bogus email contacts of people who have fictiously completed his course: Kenneth someone, total konman!!!!!!!!!!!

sgosain,

Don't know how old you are, but, I could agree with you only if your in your late 40's and no previous flying experience, but what is the rush ? Why the need to go further into debt for a short cut with NO guarantees only to be further in debt ?

There is a lot of good advice here on PPRUNE just mixed in with a lot of bad advice and money grabbers (see adverts).

Ive never got a job through buying it, Ive done it through making contacts and networking and slowly working my way up the ladder. The fast track ticket is a crazy scheme and comes at a huge cost, the cost to the industry, to your pocket and image of pilots as a group.

We really are a laughing stock and only ourselves to blame for it. We have little credibility left now, paying to fly is a dream ticket for airlines and accountants, but only for them.

The more that pay, the more the scam's. I now know of FO's paying to fly to become captain to gain PIC time.... met 4 of them a few months back.

So here it is... Okay pay for your flight time and keep your fingers crossed that you'll get a full time job with a good contract at the end of it, because you'll need the money (if there is any) to pay your loans back.

What about PIC time? will you pay then ? No i hear you say... But if there are already qualified pilots out there unemployed what make s you different?

Will you sleep at night because you believe in the theory that this is an investment? Or is it a further gamble with your future health and wealth ???

SW1 is after your money and advertising for it so why not give him/her your money ?

Is there a list anywhere of all companies accepting payment to fly ? Why not name and shame ?

WW

Wigwag,

Before you start making uninformed accusations. I was trying to inform the person interested in that if they must do it, there are reputable companies that will give them the training. Do you reall want him/her to pay Jonas M $45,000 up front and then lose all his money with nothing to show for it. Theres no point saying dont do it etc, and not giving people valid alternatives. This guy clearly wants to get his A320 tr, for sake he has called up to 15 times and sent them numerous emails, he's obviously desperate to do it and it doesnt matter what you or I say. By the way, im not involved in any way with A320typerating.com, other than I know people who did the TR and SOME of them got jobs afterwards, SOME!!! so get your facts right before accusing me of making money

Hey Guys,

thanks for the comments, just to let you know , Im 38yrs old, have my FAA Comm,Multi,Instrument, and CFI/CFII/MEI(not current) licenses,, about 1000hrs total time and want to fly in Asia (preferrebly India), so Im just ready to do this now before I get too old to even think about it.

I just received a email reply from GPTC today,,,maybe they monitor this thread,,,but now Im pretty sceptical , by the way ,,who is Jonas M???

At this point , Im really not concerned with which seat Im sitting in ,,PIC or SIC,,,I would be more than happy to fly SIC for a number of years,, and then when Im ready to move over,,I'll do it on merrit , not by paying for it,,or I'll move on to someone else. My goal is to retire as an airline pilot ,so Im looking at about a 20+ year career.

I have requested info from A320typerating.com,,,and will look into them as well, since I have family in England , might be a better option for me, however, will need to get that ATPL written done beforehand.

All you guys should have contacted Bahrain Air yourselves.

You didnt have to pay this that kind of money when you could have communicated with the airlines yourself.

Im sure he has given you the contact details of a certian Kenneth who flew for Armavia, never contacted him myself as the whole process stunk from the start.

Im glad I never took this any further even in those times of complete desperation. I knew this guy was a cheapskate when he called me and asked if I could call him back

Mick320,

God knows where you got that price from!! Jonas? Its about 30,000 GBP, so work that out into US$ yourself. Contact that email and hear it straight from them. Im just passing on information, that I shouldnt really, on to yourselves.

Bahrain Air are asking for $60,000 (USD) as of a few weeks ago. Absolutely no room for movement because there's no shortage of fools willing to pay. They can .

AWVS and virtually ever other provider of line training expects you to do their own TR first. Sharks everywhere.

Mick320,

The figures I have are from earleir this year, February so obviously gone up substantially. Regarding AWVS, when I enquired about any kid of line training, they told me its fine if you have the TR, does not need to be done with them. If you want the guys in charges number, yo can PM me. Best to ask the person in charge yourself. I have no idea if they are credible or not, im only going by what was said to me.....

Now I am not beeing patronising or spiteful as I have tried getting cheated myself earlier on. But, some of you guys really do know how to dig your own graves.

1) Never trust anyone when it comes to big money - especially in this buisness

2) Legal action will probably not work and if it does you will probably just be right, but never see your money.

3) Dont pay to work - It is the root of all evils and it just add fuel to the fires of conmen like the one you have met. They flurish in these conditions. Are you really that desperate guys?

Thumbs down

hello,

jonas(or stan, who cares???) proposed me an offer as well( my dog have smelled the scam when I printed the e-mail) , several months ago, but...
guys..., where is the contract?, do you have a contract with them? do you have a clause for cancellation? refund?if problems arise... something like :" if we can not offer a traning after 6 months, we will refund the customers the total amount minus 200$ admin fee"

if you have nothing in writing, on what base do you want you money back?
this jonas could say it' s a donation, or a gift!!!

you can bet this jonas will file bankrupt soon. I guess he is waiting for some more money from poor chaps who don't read pprune.

anyway, this sound a fraud. contact DHS who gave them tourist Visa to this jonas, report plaint to the FAA (Mabe they can tell you what to do), file plaint to the chambre of commerce, and get a lawyer!

if guilty he will face jail time and fine. I have seen people in the US runing flight schools, filed bankrupt, took all students money.Later they stole cheques, and they finished in jail.
