Do airlines care which JAR country your license is issued in?

Does it matter which JAR country your license is issued in?

I don't think the airlines think too much about it, but either way it would be interesting to know if anyone has had any experience or heard something?

I know Virgin Atlantic wants a UK issued license, Easyjet also.

I know British Airways, Air France, Iberia and Lufthansa seek people with the Moldova license.

Ryanair require an Irish Licence, but a UK licence can be transferred quite easily, albeit at great expense...

Yeah..unfortunately. I guess what I meant though was if some airline consider JAA licenses from some states to be "worth less" than others. For whatever reasons. Or the opposite, would one become a tiny bit more interesting to say a Spanish airline if that person has a license issued in Spain.

However since Easyjet, Ryanair and other airlines transfer licenses I guess the question is a bit stupid in a way

It's rumoured that some UK airlines don't like Spanish licences or Spanish IRs but I've no idea if this is true.

In mid summer with an immediate need, I would think most HR/Chief Pilots are more interested if you are current, which applicant has the most hours on type, if the Class 1 is valid, current geographic location and when you could start.

At present when the market is flooded, they can be picky and I think most British based Chief Pilots at present would look more favourably on a UK CPL/IR because its something they can quantify and already have dealings with the CAA.

Remember one of the major factors for commercial aviation is risk and managing it.

My experience is no, the only thing that might happen is that during the selection process the company makes clear you need to transfer your licence to another JAR country when you get hired.
