"One Stop" Modular

Hello all,

I wonder if anyone could just clarify the exact meaning of this for me, as I’ve heard various conflicting views.(I tried searching pprune on it too)
Even Flybes' Capt Ian Cheese was particularly vague on the subject when I heard him speak.

Are you required to have completed PPL, ground school, hours, CPL, IR, MCC etc at one single school for a typical airline to consider you in this bracket?
Or are we just talking about continuity in provider from CPL onwards?
Are airline interested in what flying you did prior to starting commercial trading?

Apologies if been asked before but appreciate if anyone can clarify?

Cheers

Ian appears to have got it wrong or more likely there has been a recent policy change. The current application form appears to omit the PPL and ATPL theory as a count in the one-stop shop requirement.

I've just submitted mine.

So for example if you train at a school like PAT(who have a great rep) you will not be able to apply to FlyBe, just down to PAT not offering the MCC course?

Am I correct, in saying if you want to apply to FlyBe you must do your CPL/MRIR/MCC at one school?

Not sure about the MCC.

Trying to remember Ian's presentation from the BALPA EOC. The need for one-stop is nullified if you are Q400 type-rated or have 500/700? hours.

Part of modular schools' recommendation system to flybe is based upon doing the PPL, Night, CPL, Multi & IR at the same school, the MCC is irrelevant, it can be a tick in the box, but it can also be more, for instance, my sim check with an airline was done in the exact sim I did my MCC in, did it help the sim check? of course it did. You just have to be a bit smart about it.
But back to the question in hand, for the application form I would imagine they are only interested in your "commercial" training being 1 stop modular, excluding MCC of course.

No. the application form states you must do your CPL/MEIR/MCC at one school.

From the site:-

"Candidates who have completed their training under a Modular scheme should have completed all modules at a single FTO, not including basic PPL training or ATPL theory study and examination."

davey I think you are over interpreting that statement, the MCC is not flight training, it doesn't specifically state the MCC, when I went for interview they didn't even ask me where I had done it, all they were interested in was whether I held an MCC certificate.

If thats the case i would be stuffed if i applied to flybe as the sim has burnt down here. So therefore cannot do the mcc with the same provider.
