Alright, now we're getting somewhere with the Mar 9th crew. I'll be staying at Druid House. Coming down from London by train on the 8th, should be arriving in Bournemouth around 1630. Lets maybe try to get together for dinner or something if we are all staying close.

Oates,

I just checked exactly where Stour Villa and Druid house are on google maps. Looks like we'll be just along the road from eachother! From what I can see though, the travel lodge that DannyT is staying at is a wee bit further from us. But we could always get a taxi and meet half way.

DannyT,

Are you staying at the Lodge on Christchurch Road?

Not at the moment. The people at Stour Villa will probably know some good places and there might be a couple more Phase 2 guys staying there too that could tag along. If you and Oates PM me your numbers then we could get in contact nearer the time.

My advice about S2, and any stage for that matter, is to arrive the evening before and stay in a B&B near the test location.

Do not get out of the car and straight into the test. You are seriously lowering your chances of success.

Re; March 2nd

Hiya,

I had a phonecall this morning from CTC wondering if I could make it this Friday 2nd March instead of a later date that I had arranged. Feel free to get in touch with me as I will be heading down there on Friday.

so what :-S

hey babolat, whats bad about lots of 18 year olds applying? i applied to ctc 9 days after i turned 18 and im almost at the end of my single engine phase now.

if anything i think we should encourage more people to join at an early age instead of wasting years in some job they dont actually care about

not meaning to come across as totallty arrogant haha, just highlighting that the young guys are just as capable of getting in

I hope your right. I've noticed a few 18 yr olds that have gotten through and it gives me hope.

Question for guys in NZ

A question for the guys already in NZ...

I'll be joining you shortly, and have been thinking about buying myself a new laptop as my PC is ready for retirement. I have heard CTC might provide laptops - is there any truth in this?

If so..great! Whats the deal - are you better off getting your own if you want to put your own stuff on it and keep it for longer than the course?

Cheers,
FA

CTC no longer supply laptops to cadets, I would therefore suggest that you definitely bring your own / buy yourself a new one.

Life out here without a laptop would be murder (in my opinion), its the way to keep in contact with peeps back in the UK.
