The CTC Wings (Cadets) Thread - Part 2.
Final Year of Uni
Lee,
Im also in my final year of uni and im provisionally(medical) on CP64 August 08 . I finished the application process 2 weeks ago and first course available to me was March so they said just finish your degree and come out in the summer.
I do admit i did start this application process last summer because i have no intention of becoming an avionics engineer(my degree) and that if i was invited to go out to NZ in January i would have gone without finishing my degree just because I want to start pilot training as soon as possible.

You dont ask, you dont get!
I do remember them saying that you can defer your course(within reason of course) if you are successful with the selection process. I got it,so i dont see why it would be a problem for anyone else. Im just glad iv got it over and done with....just want to get that JAA medical certificate so badly!!! hehe
Good Luck

Hi all
First timer here, off to my phase 2 in a couple of weeks. Very excited.
Was just wondering, during phase 3, if its a good thing that you have family/friends in the industry, or to try not to mention it?
Also, it says, Dress Code: Suit, or smart casual....but everyone puts on a suit right?
Thx

Hi,
another first timer here!
got my phase 2 next tuesday (13th nov)
anyone else?
does anyone know how many guys they usually have on an assessment day at phase 2, and roughly how many get through to phase 3?
OO and another little question.... if you get through to phase 3 and then 4.... what is the average time span from your phase 2 assessment to touching down on NZ soil?!

That depends on your availability and which courses you they need or want to fill up. I passed phase 2 at the start of June and am leaving today... so all in all about five months. Good luck with your application and remember the five p’s. Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.
First available Course at the moment is March so depending when your stage 3 is, that might change to April etc. About 6 out of my 20 at stage 2 got through to stage 3,dont know how they got on for the rest of the stages

To save anyone else asking. These pretty much cover everything that happens during the 2 stages. And remember, the interview questions will be dependant on your life experience,so the question examples in these posts are only examples, and on what other people have been asked.
READ UP ON THE JOB YOUR HUNTING FOR
Best advice for your stage 3 interview, and show how you could be an effective team player/leader.
Nice to see fresh blood on the thread, lol

Hi alanmtc
I too have my phase 2 next tuesday (13th) what time does yours start?
are you travelling down the night before or just arriving on the day? and what kind of preperation have you been doing?
from those people that have failed at stage 2, what would you say the most common thing people fail at??
Chris
