Hi guys! Done the assessment in DUB on the 9th of Feb. and today got a positive reply!
The simulator part was as described in all the previous pages, East Midlands WAL2N dep and usual airwork with fire emergency.
Tech. questions for me:
How do you calculate the fuel for a flight? (Taxi, trip ecc)
What is the height of the jetstream? And the direction overhead us?
Why we have takeoff segments?
What is the difference between metar and taf? If you are on a flight that is supposed to arrive in 4 hours you look at the metar or the taf?

Go prepared and everything should be fine!!

These might be good times gents, from the interview at STN on feb 5th at least 4 of us got through, might be more confirmed as the day passes.

Good luck to all of you going, relax and be yourself.
Be proactive and help each other in the sim.

Hi,

Been in Dublin on interview Feb-2015.
Applied late December 2014.

30+ years old.
1500+ TT
2 fails on ATPL theory.

Straight forward and relaxed interview and sim session as so many mentioned before.

After 8 days I got at positive answer and ill start TR within 6 months.(Probably 5 months).

Good Luck.

Lot's of good information on the assessment here.

However like lots of people (I know) I'm still stuck after a year without any response from CAE/Ryanair regarding my profile on the CAE website.

Is there anyone that can provide more information on how to actually get an interview/assessment?
Any information or relevant experience regarding this would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks everyone

It s just a matter of luck. I am waiting for over one year now. A good friend of mine ( same flightschool) got an email after two weeks after finishing flight school. Others are waiting over two, three years. Think positive, I know its hard.

Not sure what I´m doing wrong. I´ve filled out the application on the CAE website at the end of 2011 and have been updating until now, but no reply as of yet.
I´ve been flying SET since 2012 and got just over 2000TT with 750 PIC.
Got a JAA CPL, ME/IR and MCC on the a320.

You guys got any tips?

Hi guys,

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take from Your first email response (CV etc) to them until the assessment date? So when You respond, how long after that can You expect an assessment?

Thanks

Annita,

If you have got your assessment date already and they've told you it is at Simtech, see if you can get booked in there for just an hour or so - they are quite flexible to squeeze you in, but it might be at 0-stupid-hundred-hours, so think about this if its the day before your assessment, how it might affect your rest patterns.

The assessment profile is very basic so don't stress too much if you cant get booked in - 737 sim experience is an advantage, but not essential. The sim at Stansted is quite different from the sim in Dublin, so if you are being assessed there, Virtual Aviation might be a better choice.

Good luck

Hi Annita. I wasn't aware they do selection assessments at EMA - have you been invited there? I thought it was only DUB or STN, but I guess things are ramping up a lot so perhaps they are adding more venues.

I used Simcheck (737 simulator Dublin, Ryanair interview and simulator assessment) for assessment prep, which is at an airport west of Dublin. I bought 2 hours at the price of 400EUR. Simtech offers 2 hours for 550EUR, I thought it was too much and found something cheaper.
