I did my type at CAE back in 2007 before EMA was an option. I lived locally to EMA but have to say I am very glad I was at CAE purely because the focus you need to study for it is much better if your removed from daily life and distractions of family and friends and ahhh its the weekend ill go out with the lads.

Go to as far away as possible an bury your head in the books. CAE has great instructors. Some where not FR boys when I did mine and it did not hold me back at all.

Great memories.

You should apply to CAE as I did... I also have over 5000 hours and my app is in since 2011... No call or email as of yet however, I am over 40

I would be curious to know if you get a response... Pm me if so and good luck

Dublin 2nd feb, 2015

Sim: WAL 2N departure, East Midlands, smoke on board, QDM interception, "where are we", vectors for ILS 27. My partner got the same except he got non-standard departure. We both had LOC and GS failure after breaking out of clouds. Continued visually. Make sure you discuss everything with your partner, ask for checklists, brief everything. They are looking for good CRM and MCC, precise flying is not that important.

I personally got some HR questions and the technical part consisted of questions about gravity, does the moon have gravity, does the sun have gravity... Then a few 737 questions like number of seats, number of airplanes. Other guys on that day got more squeezed out on the technical part.

The guys are easy-going. They don't push you, don't try to put you in a bad situation.
