I send you PM Thanks

Ryanair application

Hi guys, I would like to have an advice from you all.

I’ve heard that the Ryanair recruitment process is slowing down.
Is that true? Should we wait a bit more before to send our application?
A reply would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Thanks a lot ddaveid for your reply!
I am absolutely sure that they’re going to call you but I am not pretty sure what’s going on there in Dublin.
Anyway if you have some news about the pre-assessment online result of your friend, we’re here!
Thanks again.
All the best

I have already been successful a month ago. I am going to start my type rating on 14th August in Amsterdam.
So if there is somebody starting type rating on the same day like me and would like to share same accommodation and reduce cost of the living let me know. Write me a message.

As far as I know bases are VERY well filled, ESPECIALLY with FO(SO). I have seen very often up to 3(!!) stby in a 5 day block in their rosters.

For skippers it is a bit different - IMHO we are just at the "ok" level(RYR may beg to differ). If I am lucky I have one, with a lottery style of luck 2 stby in a 5 day block. Which makes it easy to cover any holiday/sick leave for the company. But I would not call it overstaffed on Captains side. Still doing close to 100 hours in May, don't know how you would call that.

Internal com(as well broadcasted to applicants) tells there will be no more DEC recruitment(which is a pity, because this guys bring the so important experience into the company, a "internal" breed captain has not really that much clue what is going) is suspended until further notice. Maybe 2020, but I guess they will go for DEFO in worst case, rest will be covered by Cadets as it is much cheaper for them and due to lack of experience they will, most likely, stay much longer with Ryanair as no other airline (especially with the next economic downturn around the corner) is willing to hire "green" pilots.

Keep the cadet applications going in, they will reply eventually. BUT - do not forget - MAX is grounded, so there are of course no new aircraft joining the fleet right now(no new pilots required), the MAX is expected to fly EARLIEST in August(I personally doubt it that it will fly so soon), meaning that ideally there are just 2 months left for high season, after that it will be reducing of the fleet for the winter(adverts already for winter part time/unpaid leave winter 2019/20).

Realisticly I do not see a very huge requirement EVEN for cadets at the moment. Maximum to grant internal upgrades(former cadet to Captain which requires another cadet to take his place), but again, if the base is already overly full it might be that they need no replacement for an upgrader. Even upgrades itself seem not necessary at the moment, but I think RYR prefers to have a stable pool of Captains in case the MAX flies earlier or if there is a sudden "exodus"(as it happened already in the past) of experienced skippers. Always a good idea to have some spare Captains....

This forum helped me a lot to get job at Ryanair,so I will leave my feedback.
May 6,I sent application.
May 7,got invitation for online assessment.
May 10,I did online assessment
May 13,got positive email.
May 14,got call from CAE.
May 28, interview+sim.

We started at 08:00 at Ryanair head office in Dublin.
1.Briefing about interview,sim.
2.We got divided in 4 pairs,737 MCc+non 737 MCC.
3.I was last to go for interview and sim,we waited almost 8 hours.
4.Interview questions. Why so many retakes at ATPL Theory (I got 5 retakes in total),What is thunderstorm, what is cold front, why thunderstorm is dangerous to aircraft, started to ask questions about my old aircrafts,c152,c172,c182,pa28,asked about difference between carb and injection,do we need to use carb heat today(it was +14 outside),at what alt we can expect freezing level, explain how hydraulic system works.HR questions, why Ryanair, why decided become a pilot, why not AirBaltic(my local airline),why Sky4u(MCC course),why not APS MCC,tell about my training, asked me,do I have any questions.
5.Sim, departure from liverpule SID, runway 27, after SID,climb, turns, decent, intercept VOR,ATC call, severe thunderstorm at London, airport closed, dodar,we decided go back, nits, radar vectors,ILS approach.Same for second pilot.
From 8 guys,3 got job.
Few advice, don't don't APS MCC,we had 2 guys with it, both failed.
Don't stress at interview and sim, otherwise you not gona get possitive result.

Thanks for the great info and help.

With regards to the Theoretical questions asked in the Interview is there a specific book or question manual someone can recommend to me so I can prepare well for the interview?

I completed my ATPL's almost 2 years ago so my knowledge is rusty to say the least.

Worst book ever.
I found a serious mistake in the first question and dumped it directly to the trash

What would you recommend to prepare for the Technical side of the interview if not the Ace Pilot book

This forum. All the answers you need are here.
The Ace is good for reference if you are aware that answers can be mistaken, but I think it is too long and you would be losing time. It is a a good recap of the ATPL nevertheless.
