Excellent news MX16. Where are you staying? I'll be staying in the Avon Causeway if you fancy getting together for a chat.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE PHASE 2

So i fi just brush up on my basic maths then.definately no knowledge needed of Pure maths, equations, statistics or mechanics or anything like that then. what is discussed in the group discussion? also the computer absed tests, is it worth buying them of the internet to practice on similar things, or is it just natural ability
thx for previous reply jedi

To be honest the tests that I bought bore little resemblence to the PILAPT tests.

i bought some program too and it helped me i thought. i bought it off ebay, just type PILAPT or pilot or something and it will come up. i think there is another one for a higher price. i dont know if it changes ur innate abilities but u do certainly get a lot of practise and do better in the stage.

mike,

there is little you can do to prepare for mental arithmatic and even less for the pilapt; just make sure that you are thinking straight and on top of your game - don't worry about digging out your old maths notes or playing flight sim until the early hours.
The discussion could be on any subject(literally!) and is orientated on your ability to participate without being overbearing.
Stage 3 requires a little more preparation in the form of background research (into the company, and wings in particular)and answers for obvious questions such as why you want to do it - sounds simple but try explaining it in an interview!

all the best

Yup, I'll agree with what 'Elvis' Mo90 said...

just make sure you are on top form for the aptitude tests i.e. get a good nights sleep before hand, have a good breakfast and arrive with plenty of time.

There is now a program that comes quite close to the original tests, I won't advertise it on this thread but if you go to Yahoo (it's not on Google yet) and search for PILAPT Prep you should see it.

A while back I bought something by CockpitWeb? which was a bit pants to be honest and costs twice as much.

I recently failed Stage 2, drat! but have been asked to re-apply in 6 months.

Ongoing - altough they do sometimes close the aplication process temporarily if they recieve a large number of aplications in one go.

I should've asked this at stage 2, there is no specific mention of having to sit PPL written exams on the CTC site. I assume that these must be taken. Are these sat in NZ?

Yes - one a week for the first 6 weeks in NZ unless you already have a PPL in which case you're only required to sit the air law and frto exams.
