Armee de l'Air Skyraiders - Entebbe, Uganda

Bonjour

Sorry I do not speak French but hopefully someone can help me.

I am trying to find information on some piston engined fighters that called into Entebbe, Uganda, in the early 1960s. They stayed for about a week.

I thought they were P-47 Thunderbolts but cannot find any information about them at all.

However, doing further research I wonder if they might have been Skyraiders of the Armee de l'Air. For example, I have found out that Escadron 1/20 transferred some aeroplanes from Bonfarik, Algeria to Djbouti in 1963. Also, the aircraft of Escadron 3/20 were transferred to Escadron 2/21 in Madagascar. Perhaps while transiting, they stopped over in Entebbe for a couple of days ?

Does anyone know if any Armee de l'Air Skyraiders did indeed stop over in Entebbe ?

Any information would be appreciated.
