A stupid question from a tyro.......
 

How do refrigerated goods travel by air-freight?
I presume there are two types, those that need chilling, & those that need to remain deep-frozen?
Are there refrigerated aircraft?
Excuse the stupid, but genuine, question gentlemen.

Not really a stupid question. There are several ways of going about it:

a. The items are kept frozen until just prior to loading and then re-frozen on arrival.

b. Items requiring to remain frozen are packed in dry ice.

c. Large items can travel in a refrigerated container which is disconnected during flight but then started again once unloaded.

d. The good news is that most freighter types are bloody freezing the farther aft you walk from the flight deck.

e. Some items are so packed that they can remain outside a chilled environment for 48 hours.

Every time we carried perishable goods, we switched off the cargo heat.

Dry Ice, as mentioned by Adrian Mole is the easiest way to go about it.
There are also cool containers available, with the IATA designator RAP. Basically 747 belly containers which are insulated, packed with Dry Ice & for some reason need a dozen or so batteries (for a fan I guess).
Finally, modern freighters like the 747-400F have a state of the art aircon system, where temps of +4C to +29C can be dialled into the system.
