Question 737-200F

What future is there for 737-200 freighters. Are they in the present day able to compete with the larger and more fuel efficient aircraft. There is at present a TF registered example minus engines at SEN its residence for the last 6 months plus. Is this example a saleable comodity and if so where would it be likely to go to.

Not much, I'm afraid......a friend of mine was offered a -200 in 2001, and was on the point of buying it for $ several million when 9/11 happened. By Christmas the same ship was on offer at 600k. Even for a freighter, the potential forthcoming noise regs, ageing airframe issues, etc. make for a very limited future. Africa's probably the best place for them, where they will bash out the remainder of their lives, a bit like the 1-11's and 707's before them.

Well, there's L1011 freighters for sale at around $1.5M so you can see where the marketplace is.
Lot for your money!
