Pax Cougar at SEN
As one does at this time of year, I was viewing a pile of Airline News that had been donated to my son. One article stated that the Super 727 a/c (pax only) stored at SEN would be sold as is, converted to VIP or crago door cut in at a cost of between $10- $13 millions and used as a pure freighter naturally.
The facts on the plus points on the conversion i.e. mileage / lift were self explanatory. However, 727s appear to be in recession, therefore if it is converted what period of life can it expect and in a good year how long does it take to get the outlay back. Finally, even as a VIP are there still not better and cheaper options and what would a Super 727 be valued at ?.Ta. |
I hear European are getting 2 B747 freighters. Could this be the start of the end for Fossil Airways http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/boohoo.gif
