Air Belgium Cargo gig
Greetings gents,
Does anyone have any information on the current state of affairs at Air Belgium and their freight operation out of BRU? Heard they just received their 3rd 747-800, flying freight for HongYuan group. Any info on rosters and environment there? Anything will be appreciated, cheers. |

Dear HURZ,
If YOU are a pilot you would have known that there is no difference between calling it a -8 or a -800. However if you were a REAL pilot you would have known that the correct name of the machine is not its -8 marketing name but Boeing standard 3 letters after the hyphen. Every boeing delivered aircraft will get its unique 3 number and/or lettering belonging to the original operator, Korean(-8B5), Cathay(-867), Lufthansa(-830) and so forth. The aircraft will maintain this designation even if it’s sold a million times over. So Boeing uses -800 and the FAA often use -800 for its AD’s, so it does not matter. Ooh and before I forget, You might have to call AeroProfessionals as they did not get your memo and posted a requirement for immediate 747-800 F/O’s for their client Air Belgium, aircraft 747-868(2) and one 747-8HV.
